Ruf Lanz: VBZ personnel campaign voted Best Recruiting Campaign 2011

The Queb Award "Best Recruiting Campaign" is presented each year to the best recruiting campaign in German-speaking countries. The award was presented on Thursday evening in Munich to Verkehrsbetriebe Zürich for its "Wir bewerben uns" campaign.

The campaign was designed by the long-standing VBZ advertising agency Ruf Lanz. According to the agency's press release, VBZ thus succeeds the media giant Bertelsmann, which was previously the winner. The VBZ concept has beaten ideas from Siemens, Audi, Danone, Pfizer and KPMG, among others.

"We are applying. With this innovative and actually so obvious approach, the HR department of Zurich's public transport company is approaching its target group. A simple but ingenious idea that strikes a chord with the times," Gero Hesse, jury member and spokesman for the Queb board, is quoted as saying in the press release. The personal approach to applicants and the consistent integration on the Internet were particularly convincing. In contrast to the conventional application process, the transport companies published reality clips in which supervisors apply to the jobseekers. "With our concept, we are answering the essential applicant question 'Why should I invest my talents and energy in you as an employer'," explains Jörg Buckmann, Head of HR Management at Zurich Public Transport.
