New leadership for Mediaedge|CIA
The merged media agencies introduce their executive team
The merged media agencies present their management teamsWith the takeover of the Tempus Group by the WPP network, the media agencies CIA and The Media Edge have merged to form Mediaedge|CIA. In Switzerland, the organization of the new management has now been completed, with Bernd Lecke-busch at the head of the Swiss branches of Mediaedge|CIA as CEO Switzerland and Chairman of the Executive Board. He will mainly manage the agency's fortunes from the Lausanne office. He will be joined on the Executive Board by Urs Rueb, Urs Renner and Gérald LeMeur.
The new management has been operational since May 27, although Mediaedge|CIA does not actually exist as a company in Switzerland yet. "We have to keep the companies separate until the end of the year for legal reasons," explains Bernd Leckebusch, "but we are already operating together."
While Gérald LeMeur continues to manage the management consultancy unit LeLab in Geneva, Urs Renner and his team from The Media Edge joined CIA in Zurich at the beginning of the year. Rueb and Renner are effectively co-managing the operational side of the business, but Rueb is responsible for the Zurich branch. "In practical terms, this means that Urs Renner continues to look after the clients of the former Media Edge in addition to various management tasks," says Rueb, "so we can guarantee the greatest possible continuity.
The new Executive Board was formed definitively after the previous CEO Switzerland, André Funk, decided to leave the company. Leckebusch emphasizes that this step was taken by mutual agreement. Funk and Andres Palomares, the previous head of the Media Services organization in Berne, will turn their attention to their own projects.
According to Leckebusch, the composition of the Executive Board came about without any influence from the network. The proposal from Switzerland was accepted without any objections.
"You certainly can't deny that two cultures come together at Mediaedge|CIA," admits Leckebusch, "but everyone has been pulling in the same direction from the very beginning." Urs Rueb is also a little wistful: "It certainly hurts to give up the independence of CIA. But a new and extremely promising era has now begun."
In addition to giving the two companies a stronger position in the market, the changes have also given them access to the market.
The merger has given us access to new tools and working methods that will soon be introduced to the market. The merger made Mediaedge|CIA the number two among Swiss media agencies. Bruno Amstutz
