Head of the week: "I've returned to a modern agency"
Stefan Gürtler joined cR Communications on a strategic level on October 1
Stefan Gürtler has strengthened cR Kommunikation at a strategic level since October 1Head of the week "I have returned to a modern agency" He does not define himself by functions, but by tasks and competencies. This statement comes from Stefan Gürtler, who until a few weeks ago was Head of Corporate Communications and Senior Vice President of Bluewin. But for an agency with flat hierarchies, that's just the way it should be. Since October, the 39-year-old has been responsible for establishing and expanding new business areas and developing new products at cR Kommunikation.
Despite the change of front, the area of responsibility is the only really new thing about his job, as he made his debut at the Küsnacht-based PR agency back in 1994. Gürtler describes his re-entry as a "home run" that lasted six years. After 1996, this run took him via the Compaq, Farner Public Relations and finally Bluewin bases. During these years, contact with cR was never broken off. On the contrary: during his time at Bluewin, the exchange intensified, as cR was the Internet service provider's in-house agency from the very beginning.
When Gürtler joined, Bluewin was still an independent company on its way to the stock exchange - a "dream project" for him. But the stock exchange listing was called off. Swisscom "demoted" Bluewin to one of its departments. "Things naturally became a little quieter in terms of communication," says Gürtler. This also created space for new challenges, he says, explaining the background to his job change. The hobby sailor explains that he then dropped anchor again at cR due to the agency's great development potential and willingness to develop. "This must inevitably lead to 'dream projects'," Gürtler is convinced. At Bluewin, he learned the value of marketing managed according to business criteria. He now wants to share this benefit with cR customers.
Not much has changed during his six-year absence: it's still the same game and almost the same team. "I left a modern agency and returned to a modern agency," says Gürtler. However, new areas such as public affairs and health care have been added, as well as a sophisticated infrastructure and a branch in Bern. And the coffee has gotten better, jokes the married family man.
Gürtler has set himself three goals for the future of his agency: operationally, he wants to make a substantial value contribution to the company. In terms of content, he wants to expand his consulting expertise. "And mentally, I want to enjoy my work just as much as before."
