Gestalt: Simulating the way home with "After Party

The Federal Office of Public Health (FOPH) and the Swiss Council for Accident Prevention (BUPR) launched the smartphone game «After Party» to mark Alcohol Awareness Week, which took place from May 18 to 26, 2013. The agency Gestalt was responsible for the idea and concept.

The app aims to raise awareness among young target groups on the topics of alcohol and health as well as alcohol and road safety. With a mix of skill and knowledge, the players are tested to see how fit they are for the way home after going out. The scenario: It's the weekend and after a boisterous party, the character sets off on the way home in a drunken state. Many traps lurk on the way.

Every two years, events and activities on the subject of alcohol are held throughout Switzerland under the name Dialogue Week Alcohol, aimed at the population as a whole. The Dialogue Week is dedicated to the current alcohol prevention campaign "I talk about alcohol". The FOPH runs this campaign together with partners and 14 supporting organizations. "I talk about alcohol" is alcohol prevention to have your say. The debate on how to deal with alcohol is important because alcohol problems are still a taboo subject.

"After Party" can be downloaded free of charge from the App Store and Google Play. The app was developed by Gbanga, Zurich.
