Maybaum Film makes ICT professions appealing to young people with an interactive video
Through an interactive video, ICT Vocational Training Switzerland guides young people through the world of ICT careers in a fun and engaging way. The production by Maybaum Film uses a pizza analogy to explain job roles such as computer scientist, mediamatician, and ICT specialist. The mobile-first format was produced in a single day of filming with a small crew.

"Pizza?" - the interactive video that ICT vocational training Switzerland uses at careers fairs and online starts with this question. The answer options "Nope!" or "1000%" playfully guide young people through the diverse world of ICT professions. Because as the producers emphasize: For a well-running pizza business, you need well-trained people in this professional field.
While mediamaticians take care of the design of the pizza flyer or the visual appearance of the pizzeria, computer scientists EFZ ensure that all orders arrive at the right place at the same time. Analogies such as these are used to shed light on the occupations of computer scientist EFZ, mediamatician EFZ, ICT specialist EFZ and digital business developer.
Mobile first and aha moments

At careers fairs, pupils can access the experience directly via a QR code on a pizza flyer. The format is deliberately designed to be mobile first: short decision-making paths, clear feedback and immediate rewards in the form of "aha" moments. "Interactive videos meet young people where they are: on their smartphones, in short, relevant units - with real participation instead of passive consumption and a topic that they can relate to in their everyday lives," says Elisa Marti, Head of Marketing & Communication at ICT Vocational Training Switzerland.
In two to three minutes, those interested can get an idea of the various possibilities. The action is repeatedly livened up with funny elements. If you want pineapple on your pizza, for example, you produce an error.
Efficient production with precision
For this to work, the concept had to be designed with precision. At the beginning, core content and learning objectives were defined, then the branching storyline was worked out as a flowchart - with questions, answer paths and jumps back. On this basis, concept developer and director Alena Huber created a clickable prototype to validate the rhythm, logic and scope. Only then did the shoot planning follow with a detailed shot list.
Maybaum Film efficiently realized the production itself with a small crew in just one day of shooting. The young actors and actresses were provided by ICT-Berufsbildung Schweiz and already knew each other from their working environment. The result is an authentic setting that shows the young people enjoying a leisurely afternoon of gaming at home. The video material was supplemented with animations, image elements and stock footage.
