For its 2026 Open House campaign, the Zurich University of the Arts (ZHdK) is featuring a single motif: the horizon. And yet no two posters are alike: The in-house campaign was produced using the Iris screen-printing process.

A Metaphor Instead of Arguments

Anyone facing the decision of which major to choose is confronted with a bewildering array of options, and it often takes years to see whether the decision was the right one. The campaign responds to this not with arguments, but with a metaphor: Where the horizon opens up, new perspectives begin. The posters were printed by Hagmann Siebdruck GmbH in Winterthur. In iris printing, multiple colors blend into one another in a single print run, and because the transition can never be replicated exactly, a different horizon emerges each time.

«We wanted to convey to prospective students—in addition to the rational arguments for studying at ZHdK—above all a sense of confidence: that something is waiting for them ahead. That studying at ZHdK will open up new horizons,» says Kristian Brändle, Head of Marketing.

ZHdK Open House: A Wide Range of Media Leading Up to the Event

The campaign will run from early October through mid-November 2026 (Calendar Weeks 41 through 47). It will be featured in education-related settings, supplemented by e-panels and digital screens, geotargeted digital ads, movie theater ads in Zurich’s arthouse cinemas, organic and paid social media campaigns, postcards, and a landing page. In addition, there will be events at the Toni-Areal and the Gessnerallee. The Zurich University of the Arts’ open house days will take place from November 16 to 20, 2026.
