Microspot is committed to animals in Swiss homes
For five weeks, microspot.ch will donate ten rappen to the STS for every pet supply item purchased in its online store.

The donation campaign on microspot.ch runs from September 19 to October 23, 2022. microspot.ch will donate ten centimes for every pet supply item purchased during this period, such as cat food or dog toys. The amount will benefit hard-to-place pets as well as the STS project "Adopt a Pet", which promotes the placement of animals in new, loving and species-appropriate homes. Together with Coop and Mars Switzerland, microspot.ch is thus supporting animals in animal shelters and the Swiss Animal Protection STS for the fourth time in a row on World Animal Day. Katharina Waanders is Product Manager for pet supplies at microspot.ch and has been in charge of the campaign at microspot.ch since the beginning. For her, the campaign is a matter of the heart: "It makes me proud to support such a great project". Last year, a check of around 45,000 Swiss francs was presented to the STS.
Three influencers in action
Also this year microspot.ch hopes to be able to hand over as high a sum as possible to the Swiss Animal Protection STS. The donation campaign on microspot.ch is part of the World Animal Day (WAD) campaign of the STS together with microspot.ch, Coop and Mars Switzerland. Thanks to the campaign, the Swiss population is to be sensitized to the topic of pet adoption.
In addition to the fundraising campaign, videos on the subject are being distributed on social media. To make the campaign even better known in Switzerland, three influencers are also involved and present animal shelters and their four-legged residents on their accounts. The aim is to find new homes for as many animals as possible.
At the moment, a particularly large number of animals are being handed over to animal shelters. According to Carolin Strasser from the Rosel Animal Shelter, the reasons why an animal ends up in a shelter are manifold. But as in many other areas, the effects of Corona are also being felt in animal welfare: "There are many people who acquired a dog during Corona, for example, and now want to go on vacation or simply have neither the time nor the inclination to take care of the dog."
The international World Animal Day is intended to draw attention to the suffering of animals caused by humans. It has taken place every year on October 4 since 1925. microspot.ch has supported the project since 2019.
