Büro Destruct realizes exhibition "125 years YB" for BHM

Since Thursday, the Bern History Museum has been showing "125 Years of YB. Bern and the Young Boys - The Anniversary Exhibition". The exhibition was developed together with BSC Young Boys and fans. Büro Destruct is responsible for the advertising campaign and the exhibition design.

On March 14, 1898, four Bernese high school students founded their own football club - FC Young Boys. For the first few years, the team played directly behind the Bern History Museum, on the site of today's Museumsquartier Bern. This square in the Museum Park will be restaged and played on during the exhibition period with a participatory offer.

"With this exhibition, we are able to look back on the long and eventful history of the Berner Sport Club and to convey to the people of Bern in a playful way why their Young Boys are more than just a football club," says Wanja Greuel, CEO of BSC Young Boys.

Today, BSC Young Boys is one of the most successful football clubs in Switzerland and is closely linked to the people of Bern. For exhibition curator Reto Boschung, YB is part of Bern's DNA: "Victories, defeats and identification with the club influence the lives of the Bernese population. The history of the Young Boys reflects social developments of an entire century."

The exhibition is dedicated to this eventful club and football history in four chronological focal points: the founding period, the golden fifties, the threatening end in the 1990s and the great emotions surrounding the sporting successes in 2018. Memories of YB legends and Berner:innen bring personal moments to life, while a cabinet allows visitors to immerse themselves in the world of the YB fan curve. Significant exhibits from the history of the Young Boys, such as the "Meisterlatte" from 2018, the championship trophy from the 1950s or a piece of the old Wankdorf stadium can be discovered.

The exhibition also extends to the former football field of the former Young Boys in the Museum Park with a playful and sporty post run. At ten experience stations, playful people of all ages can actively devote themselves to the YB story and football history.
