Edelweiss and Lauschsicht show everyday cockpit life in an authentic film

The Swiss vacation airline Edelweiss is offering, for the first time, an emotional glimpse into the daily work lives of its pilots in an 11-minute film. «More Than Just Flying» follows crews on short- and long-haul flights and showcases the people behind the controls. For the project, Edelweiss once again collaborated with the Zurich-based video agency Lauschsicht.

Edelweiss is putting the cockpit in the spotlight: with a new, authentic film, the leading Swiss leisure airline is providing emotional and tangible insights into the day-to-day work of its pilots for the first time. The eleven-minute film accompanies crews on short and long-haul flights and shows the daily work routine in the cockpit close to reality.

The focus is on the people. Pilots themselves have their say and show what characterizes working at Edelweiss: a shared passion for flying, a high level of professionalism and a trusting working relationship. This makes it clear what Edelweiss stands for as an employer: For responsibility, team spirit and a culture in which people pursue the same goal together.

The film "More than just flying" is a central element of Edelweiss' employer branding and is used specifically in the recruitment of pilots. It offers those interested in flying an authentic insight into the day-to-day work and culture in the Edelweiss cockpit and helps them to assess whether this environment suits them. At the same time, the film helps Edelweiss to target those personalities who are a good fit for the Edelweiss cockpit, both professionally and personally.

Varied working environment

Edelweiss offers pilots a varied working environment. Short-haul and long-haul assignments take them to a wide range of vacation destinations worldwide. Thanks to the mixed-fleet flying model (MFF), Edelweiss pilots fly on different types of aircraft, which provides additional variety in the cockpit routine. With the new Airbus A350, Edelweiss also relies on state-of-the-art technology.

Edelweiss also offers flexible options for combining flying assignments with tasks on the ground. This allows pilots to organize their work individually - for example, if they do not wish to fly full-time on a permanent basis.

For the realization of the film "More than just flying", Edelweiss once again worked together with the Zurich video agency Lauschsicht. Their flair for authentic storytelling and their aviation expertise from previous Edelweiss projects, including the films for the first landing of the Airbus A350, were decisive.
