Twitter introduces more space in tweets

The microblogging service Twitter is now giving its users a little more space in their tweets. Attachments such as photos or videos will no longer count toward the 140-character limit, the U.S. company tweeted.

In the tough battle for users, Twitter wants to give its customers a little more leeway. CEO Jack Dorsey recently announced that he wants to focus more on videos, among other things, in order to get his service out of the crisis. After all, Twitter is struggling with problems ten years after it was founded. The number of users is stuck at around 300 million and is only growing slowly. Its competitor Facebook, with more than 1.6 billion members, is also focusing heavily on video and live streaming, where scenes are broadcast directly online. Twitter in turn started this trend with its live streaming app Periscope. (SDA)
