Facebook DACH chief practices humility and pushes Switzerland business

In an interview with Handelszeitung, Facebook's DACH boss Tino Krause admits that there is a great need for change at the social media giant. On topics such as data breaches, allegations of election manipulation and billion-dollar fines, he says: "We have to change. And yes, we have to face up to responsibility. We can't duck away."

"Millions of people use our platform. There is, of course, also a personal component to this issue in terms of my role. Where did mistakes happen, what can be done better? Finding answers to that - that's my concern and was also one of the reasons I chose Facebook as an employer." Regarding hate speech on Facebook, Krause says, "Yes, you can say it's only 80 percent that we filter out. But 18 months ago, we were at 50 percent. This shows the path we are on."

Krause has been Facebook's DACH boss for a year and wants to push the business in Switzerland. By the end of the year, the number of employees in Zurich is to increase from around 100 to 200. In addition, according to Krause, Facebook wants to intensify its business with traditional SMEs, but also has its sights set on large corporations from the food, luxury and financial industries.
