The Digital Trust Label developed by the Swiss Digital Initiative stands for a new standard in dealing with digital trust. Since the start of the project in 2020, the label has pursued the goal of making the trustworthiness of digital services visible and verifiable.

One focus of the label is on the use of artificial intelligence. The Swiss Digital Initiative has developed a self-assessment tool to support companies in the trustworthy implementation of AI. This is particularly relevant as the regulatory landscape in the field of AI is still evolving, while the technology is increasingly being integrated into digital services.

The label will now be handed over to SGS, a testing, inspection and certification company and long-standing partner of the project. Under the leadership of SGS, the Digital Trust Label will expand its reach while maintaining its standards, making digital trust verifiable and actionable for organizations around the world. Jan Meemken, Sub-Regional Manager DACH at SGS, explains: "The Digital Trust Label fits perfectly with our strategic vision for digital trust services. We are committed to spreading this Swiss innovation internationally while maintaining its high standards and credibility."

Doris Leuthard, President of the Swiss Digital Initiative, is pleased with the development: "I am very proud of how our vision of creating a 'fair trade label for the digital age' has evolved from concept to concrete reality. This achievement would not have been possible without the commitment of the Swiss Digital Initiative team, our supporters, partners, customers and experts who have contributed their expertise and passion."
