Swiss Post makes online sales easier

E-COMMERCE As online commerce becomes more widespread, customers are increasingly demanding simplicity. Swiss Post is responding to this need and is making online shopping and receiving parcels easier with various innovations.More and more goods are being bought online and delivered by post - last year, the e-commerce market in Switzerland grew by over 7 percent. In line with this development, Swiss Post customers are demanding more convenience when buying online and, above all, individualized delivery. The more choice they have when it comes to parcel delivery, the more likely it is that they will receive the goods they ordered at the time and place of their choice.online retailers are facing intense competition due to market growth, and customer loyalty is becoming increasingly important. In online retail, this is achieved primarily through service and attractive delivery conditions. Swiss Post is constantly developing its services in line with the needs of online retailers and private customers and is introducing new services this fall.Simplicity in online purchasing - individualization in deliveryAn important component of the new services is a customer login that customers can use to store in various online stores. All it takes is one click and the customer profile with personal delivery addresses is available for online purchases. Customers only need a user name and password for various online stores. There is no need to enter personal details in the individual stores. If online retailers fully rely on Postlogin, they will save themselves the trouble of maintaining user accounts and offer their customers greater convenience. Swiss Post will also introduce individual control of parcels and registered letters in the course of 2016. As soon as a consignment is on its way to a customer, they can choose in their consignment cockpit on the Swiss Post website whether the consignment should be delivered to their home address or to an alternative address. In future, customers will also be able to use this cockpit to set their personal delivery preferences: they can determine when and where parcels and registered letters are delivered to them - for example on Monday at home, on Tuesday at their work address, on Wednesday at a parcel machine, etc.More choice in deliveryIn order to offer customers even more delivery options in future, Swiss Post is expanding its services during off-peak hours in the evening and on Saturdays. For example, customers can now request a second delivery in the evening for missed parcels. In October, Swiss Post is also launching a test for Sunday delivery. The test will take place in the cities of Zurich, Geneva, Lausanne and Basel. The network and services of My Post 24 terminals are also being further expanded. Swiss Post has been installing vending machines at SBB stations since June 2015. Registered letters can now be collected from the machines and signed for at the terminal. With these measures, Swiss Post aims to help develop the e-commerce market - with the aim of making e-commerce even simpler and more individual for online retailers and private customers.
