Chris Capossela, CMO of Microsoft presents new solutions. My personal frustration from this year's visit first. A year ago, taking a cab in this great metropolis was a real pleasure - the explanation: Uber! Not so this year; Uber has been banned from the city and so customers have to deal with cab drivers who speak no English, have no sat-nav and frown at credit card payments - not funny. So I can only hope that the tourist lobby will one day be stronger than the cab union and that politicians will also realize the economic consequences of this short-sighted assessment. And yes - Barcelona has the ambition to become a "smart city"! But now to the conference. When Americans talk about "it's a big deal", you can often brush off half of the statement and come close to reality. At Microsoft's Convergence 2015, however, this preconception was disproved. What Chris Capossela, CMO of Microsoft, presented was really a convincing package of new solutions and relevant upgrades.the announcements at a glance:- "Skype for Business" with the possibility to work together on documents via online conference - the name of the respective writer is displayed to everyone. "CRM Dynamics Release 2016" - in addition to various improvements, the integrated analytics engine is certainly worth mentioning because it can be used to automatically generate recommendations for sales and marketing.- "Power Apps" - the possibility for people without programming knowledge to configure simple apps via graphical menu control. It is interesting to note that these apps work on all three common platforms Windows, Android and iPhone and can be distributed very quickly and easily within the company. What is striking about Microsoft is that everything they develop is based on the cloud. To a certain extent, the cloud is the solution DNA at Microsoft. It is also interesting to note the enthusiasm with which purchased solutions are integrated into the Office package; Skype, Yammer and Netbreeze are examples of this. Microsoft thus offers a broad and well-integrated solution package that goes far beyond the usual CRM functionalities. Salesforce.com and SAP will have to come up with something to compete with Microsoft Dynamics CRM in the future. It remains to be seen whether Microsoft can deliver on the promised simplicity in the handling of the new CRM 2016 analytics functions, and this year's conference made it clear that the digital transformation train has gained further momentum. This was evident in case studies such as the management of Real Madrid's 450 million fans worldwide or the fact that Metro Bank is working with a cloud solution. Social, mobile, cloud, big data and analytics are not only necessary prerequisites for the success of these companies, but are already a matter of course.
