Cloudtec renews website for Swiss hiking trails
Tailor-made hiking: In order to meet the increasing demands of hiking enthusiasts, the Swiss hiking trails have completely revamped their website. Cloudtec is responsible for the implementation of the website.
The umbrella organization relies on personalized content and a simplified presentation. In this way, users receive relevant hiking suggestions, equipment tips and individual information for planning hikes. The new website is intended to function as a personalized hiking portal.
"Thanks to the new possibilities to address our users individually, we can better understand what their needs are and respond appropriately," explains Vera In-Albon, project manager of Swiss Hiking Trails. Although hiking is often used for deceleration and digital detox, many hikers call up orientation points or maps online while on the move. Even before a hike, people use the Internet to research information about routes or get inspiration for hiking destinations. "We want to take this behavior into account and at the same time use the opportunities offered by new technologies to keep up with the digital transformation," continues In-Albon.
The new website was developed as part of the digitization strategy in collaboration with Swiss Hiking Trail employees, users of the previous website, and the Bern-based portal and digitization specialist Cloudtec. In addition to personalized content, the portal integrates other systems to standardize internal processes and facilitate the exchange of information with the cantonal hiking trail organizations. Development is ongoing, and additional functions are being released all the time.
