TV series only one day after US broadcast

Sunrise TV and Hollystar are now marketing 20th Century Fox DigitalHD content. Films and TV series can therefore be purchased very early in the lifecycle.

Thanks to the new partnership with 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment, Sunrise TV and Hollystar customers now have access to many additional blockbusters as well as the latest series. For example, Sunrise TV and Hollystar in Switzerland are offering the brand new third season of the hit US series "Homeland" as a download for purchase, just one day after it is first broadcast in the USA. In addition, cinema highlights and film series such as "Die Hard 1-5" and "Ice Age 1-4" are no longer only available to rent as video-on-demand (VoD), but can also be purchased and downloaded from Hollystar.

Sunrise TV is the first complete TV service in Switzerland to offer movies not only for rent, but also for purchase. "The strategic partnership with 20th Century Fox means that we will also be able to offer movies for purchase very early on in the lifecycle," says Timm Degenhard, Chief Marketing Officer at Sunrise.

New: Series highlights available to buy

Purchased and downloaded films and TV series remain available in the customer account at all times, even if their usage rights as rental films in the VoD catalog have expired. According to the press release, this is a very important requirement for film and series fans and in the area of family and children's films. Depending on the title, a movie costs between ten and 25 francs. The films are stored on the Hollystar or Sunrise TV platform. This means that customers can access their purchased films and series in the cloud at any time and watch them as they wish without having to fill shelves or hard disks. The 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment film catalog is available in four languages (German, French, Italian and English). The rental prices (VoD) for both Sunrise TV and Hollystar range from CHF 2.90 to CHF 6.90 per film (CHF 8.40 for HD).

"The new option of being able to buy films from Sunrise TV and Hollystar with immediate effect meets a great need. Our experience in the Swiss market, with growth rates of over 50 percent, as well as in other markets in Europe and the USA, shows this," comments Markus Naef, Country Manager of 20th Century Fox Switzerland, on the partnership.

Head of Program Elif Erisik leaves Joiz

Program Director Elif Erisik has decided to leave Joiz after three years. After taking some time off to travel, she plans to pursue a new career path. The search for a successor is underway.

Elif Erisik, who as Head of Program has been responsible for developing the content and programming of Joiz Switzerland since the station's launch almost three years ago, has decided to leave the station next spring. Elif Erisik: "Joiz was the best and most exciting thing that could have happened to me in my now 15-year journalistic career. Together with a fantastic team, I was able to help shape the social media transformation and create a new media home for young people. But now I've reached a point in my life where I'd like to tackle challenges outside the media world and reorient myself professionally. First, though, I'm treating myself to some time off to travel."

The departure is by mutual agreement and on the best of terms. "My decision has nothing to do with Joiz, but rather corresponds to my general desire for a change. From my point of view, it comes at an opportune time. The groundwork has been done, the team is well attuned. It has "taken flight" and is working professionally and well. I am sure that the Joiz program will continue to develop successfully under my successor," says Elif Erisik. And further: "I leave Joiz with a crying and a laughing eye. And who knows, maybe we will work together again later in a new form."

Elif Erisik has been Head of Program for Joiz for three years. Before that, she held various positions at Viva Switzerland, B&B Endemol and Swiss Television, most recently as a producer at the people magazine "Glanz & Gloria.

Alexander Mazzara, CEO of Joiz, deeply regrets the departure of Elif Erisik. "Elif Erisik has had a decisive influence on the structure and programming of Joiz. Her signature in terms of content is clearly noticeable in our program. With her know-how, but also with her personal manner, she has made a very decisive contribution to our success."

The position of "Head of Program" will be advertised. Dominik Stroppel, COO of Joiz: "Telling stories across all vectors and conceiving and implementing a cross-media program that plays in parallel on the vectors TV, online, Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, etc. is a challenging but super-exciting task. I am looking forward to applicants and candidates who feel like taking on this new challenge in our very innovative company! "

Last but not least: Media diversity, baby

Mike Myers is going to be a father. An "Austin Powers" quote was particularly obvious in this context - and was gratefully accepted by the American media.

Late-night talker Conan O'Brien collected the original announcements from numerous TV stations. If you listen closely, you can even recognize certain variations in intonation. Unfortunately, the compilation does not reveal whether "Mini Me" puns also made it into the reports. (hae)

Content&form: Campaign for Black&Blaze

Inhalt&Form has launched a campaign for Black&Blaze, aiming to show that enjoying coffee from this young Swiss coffee roaster isn't just good—it's better.

"Coffee roasted next door on the Forch" is the claim of the still young Microroastery in Ebmatingen ZH. In line with a global trend, small roasteries have also developed in this country that no longer treat coffee as a morning ritual but position it as a genuine luxury food. So it's no wonder that even filter coffee is experiencing a revival, capable of winning over even hard-core espresso drinkers. Black&Blaze's new campaign highlights the benefits that enjoyable coffee has on coffee connoisseurs, especially if they get their coffee from Black&Blaze. The campaign features five subjects in Sunday titles.

Responsible at Black&Blaze: Claude Stahel, Blackandblaze.com. Responsible for content&form: Serge Riedener (CD), Karin Estermann (AD), Fabian Zahner (text/concept), Alexandra Scherz (consulting), Oliver Nanzig (photography).

Serviceplan: Oktoberfest for beginners

Since July, Serviceplan and Plan.Net have been working, designing, and implementing projects together under one roof at the Haus der Kommunikation. On October 25, the building celebrated Oktoberfest—for Beginners—in the spirit of its Munich headquarters.

Ten months ago, the starting signal sounded! From then on, things went at a rapid pace: the advertising agency Serviceplan Suisse was founded in December 2012, the company merged with the digital agency Plan.Net in June 2013, and Serviceplan Public Relations Suisse was founded in July. The Haus der Kommunikation (House of Communication) in Zurich Hottingen becomes the place of work for 45 employees of overlapping communication disciplines. With 300 invited guests, the agencies celebrated their move into the Haus der Kommunikation last Friday and thanked their clients for their trust in the concept, which is unique in Switzerland. The Oktoberfest shows the bond with the Serviceplan Group, the Munich parent company, and is both a thank you and an incentive: an Oktoberfest - but one for beginners, because the House of Communication is only just getting started.

Christian Baertschi and Sacha Moser, the managing directors of Serviceplan Suisse, and Claudio Rotter, managing director of Serviceplan Public Relations Suisse, are certain that with the House of Communication they have found the networking among the agencies that meets the customer's needs and can thus offer a communications location advantage.

Federal Supreme Court reorganizes media office

The Federal Supreme Court in Lausanne is getting a new head of media and communications. Starting in March 2014, Peter Josi will be responsible for media relations at Switzerland's highest court.

The position of media officer at the Federal Supreme Court is currently vacant. The 49-year-old Josi will primarily focus on the area of media and communication, as the Federal Supreme Court announced on Monday. With the appointment of an additional adjunct for the area of media and communication, the Federal Supreme Court intends to increasingly meet the current needs of the media and the public, the press release continued. The Federal Supreme Court had already made an attempt to adapt the media office to the new requirements in 2007 with the appointment of its first full-time media officer. However, the media officer at the time left the Lausanne court after just four months. Josi had been working as a Federal Court correspondent for the SDA news agency for the past 14 years. (SDA)

Switzerland Tourism hopes for trend reversal

Switzerland Tourism sees good prospects for a turnaround in the upcoming winter season. Following significant declines in the number of overnight stays in some cases over the past few years, the outlook is favorable for a return to modest growth.

An important foundation for this has been laid: Industry-wide investments have been made at the highest level and should offer guests noticeable added value, as Switzerland Tourism announced on Monday. The association points among other things to new hotels in Andermatt, Davos, Lenzerheide, Nendaz, Saanen, Verbier, Affoltern am Albis and Basel. New mountain railroads are coming into operation in Blatten-Belalp, Meiringen-Hasliberg, Nendaz and Zermatt, for example. The ski areas of Arosa-Lenzerheide, Zinal-Grimentz and Bruson-Le Châble (connection to Verbier) are newly connected.

Just under 17 million francs marketing budget

To whet the appetite for the winter season, around 550 ski instructors traveled to Zurich, Bern and Lausanne on Saturday. They canvassed passers-by with personal tips on the Swiss winter, according to reports. Switzerland Tourism has a marketing budget of 16.9 million Swiss francs for the 2013/14 winter season. In addition to Switzerland, the target markets are Germany, France, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, the United Kingdom, North America and Russia. No fewer than 23 media conferences are also being organized for this purpose. The year to date, he said, shows encouraging signs of an end to the declines of recent years. Fewer guests came from Europe in particular, partly because of the strength of the Swiss franc. (SDA)
