Wohler Anzeiger: No contract extension for Publicitas

Starting in January 2014, the publishers of the Wohler Anzeiger/Bremgarter Bezirks-Anzeiger will take over the marketing of advertising space on their own.

As of January 1, 2014, exclusive marketing will be transferred to the newly founded Medien Freiamt, a subsidiary of Kasimir Meyer. 30 years of Radio Basilisk

On November 1, 1983 at the stroke of midnight, Radio Basilisk went on air for the first time. Basilisk celebrates its birthday with on-air activities and an open day.

"Ändlig. On Saturday, November 1, 1983 - it's twelve o'clock in the evening - it's Radio Basilisk, s' Basler Radio". With these words, the then editor-in-chief and Basilisk founder Christian Heeb greeted listeners at the start of the broadcast. After the first presentation, the Basilisk program started with the song "Let's find each other tonight" by José Feliciano.

Open day

Radio Basilisk began broadcasting from Rittergasse 33 in 1983 and only moved to Fischmarkt a year later, where the studio is still located today. To mark its anniversary, Basilisk is now inviting its listeners to this studio. On Saturday, November 2, 2013, they will be able to visit the studios, learn all about music programming, feature design and commercial production and even make their own radio show and take their personal radio presentation home with them.

Hit parade from the past

Just one day earlier - on its actual birthday - Radio Basilisk sounds like it did thirty years ago (with the exception of the music). The original jingles from the 1980s will be used as the broadcast layout on November 1, 2013, and the news bulletin and the one-minute Basilisk song immediately before the prime time news will also return to the program. In an anniversary program on Friday from 18:00 to 21:00, the former Basilisk producers will present the annual hit parade from 1983.

30 years of private radio

November 1, 1983, marks an important date in Swiss media history: It was the first time that local radio stations went on the air legally. Since then, private radio stations have been an integral part of the media landscape.

It was a long battle that the pioneers fought in the late 1970s. It was only thanks to pressure from the public and the commitment of Roger Schawinski and the first radio pirates that private radio stations were able to go on air legally in November 1983 with the RVO (Broadcasting Experiments Ordinance) passed by the Federal Council.

Today, over 3.4 million people tune into their private radio stations every day. Private radio stations are also an important source of information for the affected population in the event of disasters and extraordinary situations, writes the Association of Swiss Private Radio Stations (VSP) in a press release on Tuesday. For the future, it is important to create the legal, advertising and technical conditions to ensure that private radio stations remain successful in the future.

Suter and Woz: Out-of-court settlement

Hermann Suter, president of the pro-military group Giardino, and the Woz have reached an out-of-court settlement in the “Hot Potato” affair. The author of the controversial article has apologized to Suter. A correction was also published in the latest issue.

In August, the Woz quoted Suter as saying that all federal councillors except Ueli Maurer should be shot. In fact, however, Suter said that the federal councillors should be "shot with hot cheese." According to Suter, this means "to wish them into pepperland", as can be seen from the now concluded comparison between Suter and Woz. The statement was obviously not correctly reproduced, Woz now admits. The reason is the poor comprehensibility on the tape recording. The author apologizes to Suter if he has offended his personality. In return, Suter waived further legal action.

30 years of Radio Sunshine

Radio Sunshine was the first private radio station in Central Switzerland. On November 1, 2013, starting at 10:00 a.m., the first four radio producers will be back on the air 30 years later, reaching into the vinyl and record crates of yesteryear.

Today's presenters and editors would be surprised if they had to go on the air with the technical equipment of that time, according to a statement from Radio Sunshine. With the simplest of means, euphoric, emotional radio was made 30 years ago. The presenters of that time, Matter, Richter, Dekker and Spirig, will mainly talk about that time, when the days for them had rather sixteen than ten hours, neither CD's nor computers facilitated their work and every editorial message had to be written by themselves.

Newmedia: Website for Beruf Zug

The IBW already has one, now Beruf Zug does too. Südostschweiz Newmedia has developed a new website for Beruf Zug, the center for practical vocational training, in addition to the IWB Höhere Fachschule Südostschweiz.

The website Berufzug.ch recently went online, Südostschweiz Newmedia announced in a press release on Tuesday. Large visual worlds ensure that visitors can immerse themselves in the school while surfing and get an impression of what the institution has to offer. In addition to the imagery, Newmedia has given each of the school's sections its own color. They are intended to simplify orientation within the site. The site provides information about apprenticeships in the various professions, from logistics technician to IT technician to electronics technician, as well as the corresponding training opportunities.

"Politarena" - S1's first in-house production

Together with politician, entrepreneur, and host Filippo Leutenegger, the new private TV station S1 is launching its first political talk show.

The first episodes of "Politarena" will be broadcast twice in the run-up to the federal vote on November 24. The topics will be the 1:12 initiative and the family initiative.

Blocher meets Wermuth

S1 relies on a tried-and-tested format with the Politarena. Two guests debate in the middle of the arena: SVP National Councillor Christoph Blocher and SP National Councillor Cédric Wermuth face each other on the 1:12 initiative. SVP National Councillor Silvia Flückiger and Green National Councillor Yvonne Gilli argue on the family initiative.

Prominent presenter

The former editor-in-chief and Arena presenter Filippo Leutenegger is thus returning to the screen. Leutenegger is a media entrepreneur and National Councillor. He was editor-in-chief of Swiss television. He hosted the discussion program Arena for eight years. Next February, Leutenegger will be running for the presidency of the city of Zurich.

Transmission data:
Tuesday, November 5 at 8 p.m. 1:12 Initiative

Last but not least: save your skin

Once again, a final project from the Ludwigsburg Film Academy is making headlines: with a horror-movie-style promotional clip for soap.

The Filmakademie Ludwigsburg's graduation projects repeatedly attract attention in the media. Most recently, the Mercedes clip with the young Adolf Hitler caused a stir (Werbewoche.ch reported). Now a clip by up-and-coming filmmakers Andreas Bruns and Simon Drescher promoting the soap manufacturer Lux is making an impression. In keeping with the slogan "Lux - Save your skin", a young woman saves her skin with the help of a soap. And in the truest sense of the word, in a dramatic way. It is not known that Lux - like Mercedes - distances itself from the clip. But it doesn't end so macabrely either. (sis)

Peter Hogenkamp leaves the NZZ

Peter Hogenkamp, Head of Digital Media, is leaving the NZZ Media Group effective December 1, 2013. One year after the NZZ became the first Swiss daily newspaper to introduce a paywall for NZZ.ch in 2012, he wishes to return to a more entrepreneurial role.

Until his successor is appointed, the Digital Media division will be headed directly by CEO Veit Dengler. Peter Hogenkamp had joined the NZZ Media Group in August 2010 and became a member of the Executive Board one year later. Since then, he has positively influenced and changed the company's online strategy. In the last three years, thanks to his efforts, among other things, the Group's news portals were combined to form NZZnetz, NZZ.ch was redesigned, the e-paper was very successfully further developed, and the webpaper was launched in 2012. Peter Hogenkamp: "After the final spurt, I am looking forward to a few months off and then to new challenges. In this exciting time of permanent change, you never run out of work."

On behalf of the Board of Directors and the Executive Board, Veit Dengler thanked Peter Hogenkamp in a statement for his achievements: "Thanks to his knowledge and experience, Peter Hogenkamp has given decisive impetus to the NZZ digital strategy. We regret Peter Hogenkamp's departure and wish him all the best for the future."

Peter Hogenkamp studied information management at the University of St. Gallen. Before joining the NZZ Media Group, he worked almost exclusively in an entrepreneurial capacity. In 2000, he co-founded Zeix, an agency for usability and user education, now the Swiss market leader in this field. For several years thereafter, he was Managing Director of Blogwerk, an online publisher and agency active in the field of social media, which was sold to the German Weka Group in 2011.
