A breath of fresh air in the Streuplan team

The Zurich-based agency strengthened its conception, web development, creation and consulting departments with six new faces at the end of 2013.

In a statement on Thursday, the agency announced six new appointments in the past few months.

Yvonne Friedli joined the Zurich-based BTL agency at the beginning of November. The consultant has over 10 years of experience at international agencies. Most recently, she worked as Account Director at DraftFCB/Lowe in Wallisellen.

Rebecca Kalina also joined the consulting team as a project manager at the beginning of November. The federally certified marketing specialist has experience in event organization and communication. She gained this expertise at Thurgauer Kantonalbank and Blofeld, where she was also responsible for the project management of the Photo12 and Grafik12 trade fairs.

The creative department is also pleased to welcome a new member. Barbara Michel has been supporting the team as a copywriter/concept developer since September. She previously gained industry experience at SRF Radio Virus and in Corporate Communications at the ZHAW. In summer 2013, the Winterthur native completed her Bachelor's degree in Communication at the ZHAW.

Since November, Streuplan has also employed a new senior copywriter/concept developer, Ennio Cadau. This year's winner of the Swiss Text Award previously wrote for several years at Station for clients such as Migros, Beldona and Heineken. Most recently, he created copy for Orange, Feldschlösschen and Ovomaltine at Webguerillas. Since November, the 28-year-old has also been able to count himself among the graduates of the CAS Texter program at the Textakademie Zurich.

Simona Maiolo took her seat in a climate-controlled office chair at Sihlquai back in the summer. The federally certified communications planner, event manager IHK and foreign language correspondent previously worked in marketing and event management at Accenture, Swisscom, Lia Sophia International and Dynamic Marketing Services (France). Simona Maiolo is responsible for Streuplan's international mandates and projects.

Eva Gächter has also joined the digital department. She is a trained mediamatician and has an additional degree in digital design from the Vancouver Film School. Eva Gächter most recently worked as a multimedia producer and web developer at Emoticom in Bern.

Le Temps: Sale price too high according to L'Agefi

The business newspaper L'Agefi will not be acquiring the French-Swiss daily Le Temps either. It was unable to reach an agreement on a sale price with the two current owners, Tamedia and Ringier.

The first offer from L'Agefi was deemed insufficient by Tamedia and Ringier, L'Agefi announced on Thursday evening. In the communiqué, L'Agefi called the price demanded by the owners "unrealistic" and "not reasonable".

The media companies Tamedia and Ringier, which each hold 46.2 percent of Le Temps, put the newspaper up for sale on October 8. At the end of November, Ringier said that a dozen dossiers had been received so far. The decision is expected to be made in the first half of 2014.

A takeover of the newspaper by the previous management has already failed. The two media companies rejected this at the beginning of November. In view of the lack of financing, a management buyout is not realistic.Werbewoche.ch reported). (SDA)

NZZ defends itself against superprovisional injunction

The NZZ has received a super-provisional injunction prohibiting it from publishing any further information on the data tapes lost by Swisscom. According to its own statements, it intends to contest this order.

In a brief statement on Friday evening, the NZZ writes that it was astonished to learn of the super-provisional injunction with which Swisscom intends to prevent further publication of articles in connection with lost data tapes.

The NZZ made this case public after the data tapes in question were leaked to it (Werbewoche.ch reported). However, the company has always cooperated with Swisscom, it continues. The NZZ considers the super-provisional injunction and the ban to be unfounded and has announced that it will appeal against them. According to the media company, the NZZ's conduct and its reporting were absolutely correct in legal and journalistic terms at all times.

Ringier sells shareholdings

Ringier and Axel Springer are withdrawing from the Czech Republic. In addition, Ringier is selling its stake in Good News. According to the NZZ, the media company plans to use the proceeds to improve its income statement again this year.

The end of the year is a dangerous time for the subsidiaries of the media company Ringier, says the NZZ am Sonntag. Marc Walder, the company's CEO, regularly trims the portfolios and sells off one or the other subsidiary. With the conspicuous sales at the end of the year, the CEO ensures enough extraordinary income that the income statement remains somewhat in balance.

NZZ cannot substantiate this claim with figures. The company does not report extraordinary income, and the press spokesman told NZZ that the Group does not comment further on the published figures.

In the case of the sale of shares in Good News, however, even the NZZ does not expect a high return. Rather, the sale seems to be an admission that Ringier has not been able to gain a proper foothold in this area. The long-established concert agency is a shadow of what Ringier once bought in - especially since founder André Béchir ended his collaboration with Ringier a year ago and founded the rival company ABC Production.

Aroma makes trees dance

A Christmas installation is attracting attention in the shop windows of the new Colombo la famiglia branch on Seestrasse in Zurich. It was designed by Aroma.

Bright orange trees dance in the windows of the design furniture store during the pre-Christmas season. When stationary, the objects are reminiscent of the washing columns of the nearby car wash. When set in motion, they become dancing fir trees.

Aroma developed the concept and was responsible for the implementation of the window objects. The contract also includes seasonal installations in the coming year.

The new branch on Seestrasse is the second next to the 1,500m2 residential temple in Zurich's Hürlimann area, where the troupe led by Ivano Colombo, Karin Bollinger and Peter Kern offers design pieces from all over the world.

New chocolate brand for Frey

Schoch & Sonders created the Unlimited brand on behalf of Chocolat Frey and the Migros Cooperative in Basel.

The chocolate bars, each weighing 220 grams, are individually manufactured and therefore each one is unique, according to a press release issued by the agency on Thursday. The brand design should be just as individual and convey the brand values of "imagination", "expertise" and "indulgence".

For the design, a simple, white packaging and large viewing windows were chosen that allow the chocolate creations to be seen. In addition to the brand design and packaging, Schoch & Sonders also created the POS material, flyers and advertisements. Unlimited is currently available in selected Migros Genossenschaft Basel stores.

Bakom study: SRG SSR better than private broadcasters

According to a recent study, SRG SSR’s radio and television programs are more popular with the public than those offered by private Swiss broadcasters. The regional television stations came in last in the survey.

SRG radio stations fared best: Around three out of four respondents are satisfied with them. The strengths of SRG radio stations are considered to be their professionalism, information content and balance of information. This was the finding of a study commissioned by the Federal Office of Communications (OFCOM), for which around 3,600 interviews were conducted in spring 2013. The results will be announced in a statement on Friday.

Sixty-seven percent of listeners are satisfied with local radio stations. In terms of quality, local radio stations perform "quite well," according to the study. However, the respondents rated the programs of local radio stations as less balanced than those of the public SRG stations.

SRG: Almost 70 percent satisfied

SRG SSR's channels also scored best among TV broadcasters. Satisfaction rose from 65 percent to 68 percent compared with the previous year. However, respondents gave slightly lower marks than in the last survey for information content and balance.

Around one in two viewers (51 percent) is satisfied with the programs of regional TV stations. This means that the proportion is similar to that of four years ago, after having fallen to 44 percent in the meantime.

Regional also little entertaining

The regional stations are not only rated as less professional and less informative - they also come off worse in terms of entertainment: Of all the radio programs assessed, they are rated as the least entertaining.

Local reference as a strength

The regional TV channels can score points when it comes to the importance of local topics. Around seven out of ten viewers are satisfied with the local content. This puts regional TV ahead of the competition: 64 percent of local radio viewers are satisfied with the local content, while the figure for SRG SSR TV and radio programs is less than 45 percent.
