No second nosedive for Albatros

Insurance Ruf Lanz wants to demonstrate for Suva: It's not worth taking unnecessary risks.

Insurance Ruf Lanz wants to demonstrate for Suva: It's not worth taking unnecessary risks.
The health insurance companies have known for a long time that policyholders need to take more personal responsibility to prevent premiums from rising endlessly. This insight is also behind two new commercials that Ruf Lanz has produced for Suva. Many insured persons only know the Swiss National Accident Insurance Fund in connection with accidents at work. However, few people know that they are also financially covered for non-work accidents - so-called leisure accidents - if they work for a Suva-insured company for more than eight hours a week.
Not everything is insurable
To communicate this fact to the general public, Ruf Lanz has developed a new website. However, it is not content to fill the knowledge gap. The commercials also want to warn in a surprising way: It's not worth taking unnecessary risks! The message: Of course, medical costs and daily allowances are paid by Suva. But even Suva cannot compensate for the (temporary) loss of independence - and therefore quality of life. Which is why you should take care of yourself.
For the time being, the SuvaRisk film "Men's Toilet" shows "something that has never been seen on Swiss television before", as Markus Ruf from Ruf Lanz promises. The supposed scandal: a man kneeling in front of another man in a toilet goes down his pants. Furtive glances arouse voyeuristic expectations. But then comes the denouement in a long shot: a male accident victim with both arms in plaster is unable to urinate on his own, which is why he is dependent on the help of a nurse. A female voice from off-screen gets to the point: "Accidents can have pretty unpleasant consequences. Take care of yourself. Even if you are insured with Suva against accidents at work and in your free time."
The only seemingly delicate commercial achieved the second best result of all Suva commercials ever tested in a test, as the agency assures us. It was produced by Chocolate Films in Zurich with German director Andreas Hoffmann, whose McDonald's commercials can be found on the Cannes reel.
Suddenly this boredom
In a completely different sense, a movie stimulates the imagination. It was shot to accompany the TV commercial. In it, you see nothing but the ceiling of a hospital for 40 seconds, shot with a single camera angle. Nothing happens. Not even a fly crawls across the ceiling. Danielle Lanz hopes that viewers will soon ask themselves what is going on here because they are not used to this uneventfulness in the overwrought pace of a cinema advertising block. The answer comes after long seconds of waiting in the form of these fade-ins: "Are you bored? - After an accident, you might have to stare at the ceiling for weeks. - Take care of yourself. - Even if you are insured with Suva against accidents at work and in your free time."
A small detail in passing: the agency contacted the Balgrist Orthopaedic University Clinic for the medical aspects of the "Men's Toilet" commercial. The plaster corset used in the film is also available at the clinic. One of Balgrist's patients, who had to cope with his life in a plaster cast for several weeks, was only called "Albatros"...
Nothing to do with sex in the end: Suva commercial by Ruf Lanz.

The December issue with the 300 richest people in Switzerland is an annual highlight for readers of Bilanz. It is the top seller par excellence. The print campaign for it is just as successful as the golden hit parade. This year, a politician whom the 300 richest are likely to deeply detest is used with pointed humor: Fidel Castro himself, one of the last true guardians of pure Marxist emptiness. "His apt portrayal will not only make the 300 richest people smile, but also all the less successful capitalists among the Bilanz readers," hopes the creative team of the in-house agency Publicis.

The bear is on the move!

Right now, you can choose from a wide selection of events to attend throughout the week. In addition to professional events, the event calendar also features social gatherings and some really wild parties.

At the moment, you can choose from a wide range of events to attend throughout the week. In addition to professional events, the event agenda includes social events as well as wild parties, and it seems that the upcoming festive season is already being heralded diligently.the Wirz Group's cocktail events are always popular and well attended. In addition to a usually exciting theme, a generous display of drinks and the prospect of free refreshments are an attraction. Almost 250 guests therefore found their way to the Lakeside Casino Zürichhorn, where, under the moderation of "Kulturzeit" presenter Eva Wannenmacher, five guests voted on the topic of "German language: grade unsatisfactory?" and discussed - from unfortunately not particularly controversial points of view.
As a result, the conversation never really got going and the questions posed on the invitation card, which were highly interesting, remained largely unanswered. For example, whether the popularization of dialects or the increasing telegram style - SMS sends its regards! - represent an additional difficulty in maintaining our standard language. Or whether the use of Anglicisms in our language is a loss of quality - which, incidentally, indirectly implies that English is an inferior language in terms of quality. English language students are allowed to howl out loud at this point - after all, it wasn't so long ago that a bourgeois educated elite in this country tried to distinguish itself from the profane dialect-speaking proletariat by weaving in snippets of French. Because this was not considered very chic!
Another downer: instead of merely commenting on the poor German of students and journalists in the discussion with a slightly polemical touch, a closer look at the language used in advertising would have been appropriate. Stylistic flourishes such as "Hey, gömmer Migros" or "Here you will be helped" are not to be found in the editorial section of the press, but in their advertisements. Panel participant Karl Lüönd put it most pointedly: "Genitive, dative, accusative - hopefully at least the aperitif will work!"
There is also much to report from the Action Agency's welcome party for its new joint office partners in the old Zeughaus. The event agency's premises in Zurich's Westend district have also recently been home to the latest Zurich agency start-up, Acapulco Communications. The company was founded by Tereza Stäheli and Sebastian Rundy, who previously worked as AD and deputy CD respectively at the advertising agency Inhalt & Form. And we will discreetly and deliberately remain silent about the rest of this truly wild and wild party - an alcohol-induced partial amnesia can serve as a good excuse.
The big red tent of Circus Conelli, which is set up on the Bauschänzli at the end of November, is always a harbinger of Christmas in Zurich. The motto of this year's program is "Da capo". Last year, according to circus director Herbi Lips in his welcoming address, there were three circus organizers in Zurich vying for the public's attention over the festive period. And this year only Conelli was still represented, hence "Da capo". Stapi Elmar Ledergerber declared the Christmas circus to be part of Zurich's cultural heritage, like the festively illuminated Bahnhofstrasse or the bratwurst in the "Vorderer Sternen".
The premiere is a huge get-together of show and business celebrities, which is also attended by the odd advertiser. Incidentally, the current market value of the Cervelat celebrities can be determined by the seating arrangement. The lower the number of the row of seats and the more central the seat opposite the ring entrance, the higher the current status in the social clique.
And even if the guest list given to the press made a somewhat carelessly edited impression (it featured an advertiser named Felix Bodin), the basic tenor among both the audience and the press critics was unanimous: one of the best Conelli programs ever. In addition to the program highlights, the ballet's costumes and choreography were particularly convincing and unreservedly impressive.
Last but not least, a free tip for all those who have not yet found an original Christmas present for their customers. Vouchers for or invitations to one of the Conelli gala performances including a four-course meal are not only well received by circus fans.
Beat Fritsch felt right at home at Action Agency. No wonder, with all the nice women and the great atmosphere in the armory.
The traditional Wirz cocktail at Lakeside was more civilized, and a festive premiere atmosphere prevailed at the Bauschänzli in the Conelli circus. In addition to the Cervelat celebrities, a few advertisers also gathered there.

4900 new seats

The people at Kino Basler want a large movie theater, after all.

Cinema Baslers want a large movie theater after all. Only two weeks ago, the Basel electorate clearly rejected a multiplex project (WW 41/03). Now it has been announced that five new projects are planned. A planning application has even been published in the Basel cantonal gazette - from the same consortium that was defeated in the referendum. Specifically, Enrico Ceppi from Basel wants to build nine auditoriums with 2,400 seats in the city center on the site of his Küchlin cinema. The new complex would also include two neighboring properties that Ceppi already owns. If everything goes according to plan, this multiplex will be completed in two years. But Ceppi and his partners are not stopping there. According to a report in the Basler Zeitung, they are also planning a multiplex with eleven screens and 2,500 seats on the so-called Dreispitz site on the border with Münchenstein BL. However, no planning application has yet been submitted for this. The astonished Basel public was recently informed by cantonal architect Fritz Schumacher that three further projects are planned. However, he is unwilling to name the developers, the number of seats or the locations. (mk)
