The latest NZZ Folio serves up heavy fare for vegetarians. On the other hand, the topic of "meat" is a real feast for third-party and secondary suppliers, and JWT+H+F has mixed an advertisement for Knorr's cold and barbecue sauces with the barbecue season in mind. The PR text states philosophically: "... when the barbecue season begins, the primary participants in the pleasures of the table, beef, veal, pork and lamb, try to make themselves scarce. But once you've tracked them down again, you can still do them some good."

Airlines My mother always used to say: "Boy, different doesn't necessarily mean worse." Unfortunately, I didn't take this wisdom to heart like Niki Lauda in beautiful Vienna, because his career was different - just like his flight path and flight line. Although he no longer owns the latter, it is obviously still characterized by his deviant state of mind, and if the current campaign is to be believed, different marketing rules apply in the airy republic of Lauda Air. And what airline wouldn't envy them for that! Starting with the crisp, smart average age of the predominantly female crew, the body-hugging clothing regulations and the guilelessly chosen accessories such as birds on water fittings.
We have no doubt that the passengers - only the male form exists - will have their wishes read from their eyes. Especially not since the copy promises "ultimate on-board entertainment". We suspect that there is also something inflatable under the seats other than the usual life jackets. As I said, different doesn't always have to be worse. However, I doubt that my mother has ever flown with Lauda Air.

For window peepers

Television From August 1, an erotic late-night show will shine on the Swiss window of RTL 2.

Television From August 1, an erotic late-night show will shine on the Swiss window of RTL 2.
It promises to be a hot summer: from August 1, a new erotic show "Forbidden TV" will be broadcast daily on RTL 2's Swiss window. The concept sounds similar to "Lovers TV" on Star TV - with commercials in the style of "Call now!". The concept is the brainchild of Puls Media AG from Zurich, which is associated with erotic value-added services and organized the erotic fair "Extasia" in the Hallenstadion last November. The content is produced by Matthias Hillebrand and his Phat Media Productions in Pfäffikon. "It looks like I'll be doing all the commercials for this show in future. My concept was to create something that comes across as really erotic." Hillebrand wants to achieve this by "coaching the speakers. They should feel comfortable during the recordings."
Hillebrand has already won various competitions in Germany and has made a name for himself as a producer of High German hip hop.
Peter Heeb, Head of Marketing at Star TV, where "Lovers TV" is housed from midnight, does not believe that "Forbidden TV" will become a major competitor. As RTL 2 Switzerland is only licensed as an advertising window and does not have a license for editorial broadcasts, "Forbidden TV" is not allowed to broadcast any clips or interviews, but has to fill the "late-night show" exclusively with commercials, declared as a "permanent advertising show".
The program on RTL 2 starts at 11.45 p.m., i.e. before "Lovers TV". No one at IP-Multimedia, where the RTL window is marketed, was able to comment by the editorial deadline.

20 Minuten must reapply

Distribution SBB is putting newspaper boxes out to tender in Zurich, Basel and Berne.

Distribution SBB is retendering newspaper boxes in Zurich, Basel and Berne The commuter newspaper 20 Minuten will not have its boxes in Zurich, Basel and Berne forever. The contract expires at the end of the year. This means that 20 Minuten could soon face competition. SBB is planning a new invitation procedure for box locations at SBB stations in the Golden Triangle for fall 2005. Beat-Gaudenz Schwarz from SBB-Immobilien says that they are currently working on the basis for this. It is already clear that interested parties can once again apply for exclusive rights, provided they make an appropriate offer, and neither publishing director Rolf Bollmann nor Schwarz are willing to say how many boxes are currently filled daily by 20 Minuten. What is certain is that the first tenders in Zurich mentioned 340 boxes at 170 stops, in Bern 200 locations and in Basel 120. However, the Bern and Basel figures also include locations belonging to other transport companies. It is likely that the SBB in Berne will once again carry out the tender together with its public transport partners.
Schwarz emphasizes that deviations from the current number of boxes are possible: "SBB bases its services on the S-Bahn network and commuter flows." The canton of Aargau, for example, is therefore likely to be equipped with additional boxes. On the other hand, Schwarz does not believe in box locations beyond the national border, for example in the German Wiesental near Basel. Although SBB operates an S-Bahn line there, it does not own the land. (mk)

Publisuisse has drawn illegal lots

Marketer Publisuisse has violated the Lottery Act by raffling off advertising time. A Bernese court has sentenced the SRG marketer to a fine of CHF 700.

Marketer Publisuisse has violated the Lottery Act by raffling off advertising time. A Bernese court has sentenced the SRG marketer to a fine of CHF 700 for the campaign, which was held this winter to celebrate the 40th anniversary of Swiss TV advertising. Publisuisse was of the opinion that the raffle did not fall under the lottery ban because it was only aimed at customers. The court found that the legislator had deliberately placed lottery-like events on an equal footing with lotteries and wanted to send out a signal against undesirable business practices.
