Strike Media Switzerland is the new owner of the title rights to "Snowactive" and "SnowactiveGuide". "Snowactive" was previously published by Vogt-Schild Medien in collaboration with the Swiss Ski Association Swiss-Ski and will now pass into the hands of the previous editor-in-chief Joseph Weibel, publishing director Wolfgang Burkhardt and another stakeholder, as Vogt-Schild Medien and Strike Media Switzerland write in a press release. In addition to Joseph Weibel and Wolfgang Burkhardt, the shareholders of Strike Media Switzerland are the advertising agency Brandl&Schärer, which is currently being founded. Vogt-Schild Medien, which belongs to Mittelland Zeitung, wanted to part with the title because there is no other sports magazine in its range and "Snowactive" therefore required above-average expenditure. The magazine publisher's portfolio is now to be realigned. Swiss-Ski, for its part, welcomes the change as it ensures continuity in editorial, distribution and sales. The printing contract will remain with Vogt-Schild Druck.

The Graubünden government supports the amendment to the Federal Act Against Unfair Competition (UWG) only in part. It also completely rejects the creation of a new criminal offense of ambush marketing.

The Graubünden government only partially supports the amendment of the Federal Act against Unfair Competition (UWG). The Graubünden government also completely rejects the creation of a new criminal offense of ambush marketing. This would not significantly improve legal certainty and would also restrict competition, writes the Graubünden government in its consultation response to the federal government, which was published on Thursday.

Launch of the new Bern city center magazine postponed

The launch of the new Bern city center magazine «Bärn!» has been postponed to November 9. The magazine, published by BERNcity, was originally scheduled to be released on September 21.

The launch of the new Bern city center magazine "Bärn!" has been postponed until November 9. The magazine, which is sponsored by BERNcity, should actually have been published on September 21 with a launch print run of 100,000 copies (see New city center magazine for Bern). However, the date was postponed due to the reluctance to sell advertisements. Advertising sales for the first issue went quite well - but "not well enough", as Michèle Freiburghaus, responsible for editing and production of the magazine, told Werbewoche: on the one hand, the advertising budgets had already been used up, and on the other hand, larger potential advertisers would prefer to wait for the first issue before making a decision. For this reason, the "Bern!" publishing management, together with Martin Bühler and Daniel Nicklès from BERNcity, has decided to "concentrate forces" and present a Christmas issue, which is due to be published on November 9.

Südostschweiz am Sonntag brings subscription and advertising growth

Publisher Hanspeter Lebrument draws a positive balance after the first hundred days. Südostschweiz am Sonntag is now to be expanded. As a first measure, a lifestyle supplement will be added to the Sunday newspaper from August.

Publisher Hanspeter Lebrument draws a positive balance after the first hundred days. From August, a lifestyle supplement is to be added to the Sunday newspaper. Südostschweiz am Sonntag (SOSo) was launched three months ago at the beginning of May as the first regional Sunday newspaper as the seventh edition of Südostschweiz with a circulation of 50,000 copies (see From May 7, Südostschweiz is Reading Sunday).
The seventh edition of SOSo not only gave the entire Südostschweiz newspaper network a boost, but the network was also able to achieve double-digit percentage growth in national advertising compared to the previous year. An increase of almost 18 percent was recorded in July. However, Lebrument conceded that it is difficult to assess the extent to which the economy is responsible for the boost. In any case, existing fears of cannibalization by the seventh edition have not come true. The opposite was the case. However, SOSo was not spared from the summer slump - it only contains four pages of advertisements in the 36-page issue.
SOSo is distributed to subscribers by early delivery. Figures on newsstand sales are not yet available. Around 2000 papers are sold via boxes on Sundays. SOSo was able to gain 122 new subscribers for Südostschweiz, but in return lost 54 subscribers who either did not want the Sunday edition or could not choose between a subscription with or without the seventh edition.
End of August with third bundle
From the end of August, SOSo will be published with a third supplement - a lifestyle supplement. Talks are also underway with other publishers in the Südostschweiz network about expanding the Sunday supplement. Publisher Hanspeter Lebrument assumes that the SOSo umbrella brand will grow.
