Shortlist: The photos from "Faces Night

Last Thursday, Club Le Bal hosted its second VIP cocktail party. Many models—and those who are eager to become models—didn't want to miss it.

The night of the faces
Fashion is faces, and faces is fashion. Reason enough, then, to let yourself be celebrated properly. Another reason is that the magazine combines lifestyle and fashion in a high-quality setting. That's probably why it appears only once a month - much to the chagrin of readers. True to the motto, if you want to be popular, make yourself rare! After all, the ideas have to come from somewhere. But as long as the end result is right and Faces remains as it is, namely in an unmistakably sophisticated way, readers will willingly accept a long wait.

Hot for fish
Last Thursday, the VIP aperitif was held at Club Le Bal for the second time. Many models and those who would like to be, did not miss this. Not only because of the delicious raw fish appetizers from the noble sushi place Yoshi's and the sparkling Prosecco. But only until 9:00 p.m., because after that was the end, respectively after that you had to pay for the drinks. And the delicious sushis were gone in no time anyway.

Hot on catwalk
Perhaps the rush was also due a little to the opportunity to play model for a night. A catwalk was enthroned in the center of the club, which was set up especially or only for the bravest fashionistas and trendsetters among the guests. Everyone was thus allowed to show their own interpretation of fashion and put themselves in the limelight. Which went wonderfully after a few glasses. Loosely-flockig one stepped over the Catwalk and felt pudelwohl thereby. The countless curious pairs of eyes did not bother some self-proclaimed mannequins. On the contrary, they even spurred them on to top performance! That is to say: Men in particular presented the most seductive hip swing the female world has ever seen.

Fairness Commission: Most complaints about internet advertising

Internet advertising is increasingly becoming a source of complaints to the Fair Trading Commission. Although the majority of complaints are still filed against direct marketing, the Internet was already the fourth most common reason for contacting the advertising industry’s self-regulatory body in 2008.

Advertising on the Internet is increasingly giving rise to complaints to the Fair Trading Commission. Although complaints against direct marketing are still the most common, the Internet is catching up. In 2008, internet advertising was already the fourth most common reason for appealing to the advertising industry's self-regulatory body. This means that the proportion of complaints about Internet advertising has increased a good six-fold since 2002, as the Swiss Commission for Fair Trading writes in its 2008 activity report published on Monday. In 2002, the Internet accounted for 3.5 percent of complaints; last year it was already 18.4 percent.
In 2008, the Commission received a total of 311 complaints, around 25 more than in the previous year. The most frequent reason for complaint was misleading advertising (27.9 percent), 13.5 percent of all complaints concerned sexist advertising and 10.9 percent concerned competitions. This is a trend reversal: For years, aggressive sales methods topped the list of reasons for complaint. In 2002, aggressive sales methods still accounted for 66.9 percent of all complaints; in 2008, the figure was only 19 percent.
The Fairness Commission did not want to speculate on the reasons for the decline in complaints about aggressive advertising. The report states that it is not possible to determine whether this is due to improved self-regulation by advertisers or the activities of the Fairness Commission.

Last but not least: Mr. T becomes drill coach of the Swiss football team

The Swiss national football team receives prominent support from the A-Team: Mr. T, alias B.A. Baracus, hired by Snickers as drill coach, urges the team not to give up and to fight in the qualifying match against Moldova.

The Swiss national football team receives prominent support from the A-Team: Mr. T alias B.A. Baracus, hired by Snickers as drill coach, calls on the team via video message not to give up and to fight in the qualifying match against Moldova for the 2010 World Cup South Africa. Wearing lavish gold jewelry - including an oversized Snickers bling - he also gives the Swiss footballers a tip to grab a Snickers if they need a kick - Get some Nuts!
Well, with this support, nothing can go wrong. Because we know that whatever the A-Team takes in hand, it will succeed. Let's hope that the episode "Qualifying match of April 1, 2009" also ends with Hannibal's legendary line: "I love it when a plan works!".

Publicitas Index: sharpest decline since June 2002

The index compiled by the advertising agency Publicitas continues to decline. After falling from 89.9 to 88.3 points in January, it dropped by 2.3 points in February—the sharpest decline since June 2002.

The index compiled by the advertising company Publicitas continues to fall. After dropping from 89.9 to 88.3 points in January, it fell by 2.3 points in February, the sharpest decline since June 2002. The index fell from 88.3 to 86 points. In addition to the economic downturn, which is affecting all advertising categories, the fact that one issue was missing in February 2009 compared to leap year 2008 also played a role, Publicitas announced on Monday.
Advertising expenditure for both commercial advertisements and inserts continued to fall in almost all sectors. Banks and telecommunications companies were among the groups that reduced their advertising expenditure the most. The downward trend now encompasses all regions in Switzerland and all customer segments. The number of real estate and job advertisements continues to fall. This comes as little surprise, writes Publicitas. The decline in occasional ads was only slowed somewhat by the referendum campaigns at the beginning of February.
The job advertisements sub-index recorded a sharp decline. It lost 9.8 points, falling from 179.7 to 169.9 points. The real estate advertisements sub-index also fell by 1.8 points to 66.0 points. The reason for the decline, which has been observed since 2006, is the lack of properties for sale and rent.
