GastroSuisse and Farner: 270,000 Reasons to Say Thank You
With an appreciation campaign developed by Farner, GastroSuisse is putting the spotlight on the 270,000 employees of the Swiss hospitality industry—in a humorous, relatable way and with a clear message: ’Thank goodness for Gastro.«

With a new nationwide campaign, GastroSuisse is saying ’thank you” to the approximately 270,000 employees in the Swiss hospitality industry. Developed by the Farner agency, the GastroSuisse campaign aims to highlight what often goes unnoticed in everyday life: the daily dedication of the people who make those special moments possible.
People Take Center Stage in Farner's GastroSuisse Campaign
Following the successful positioning of the hospitality industry as a high-performing and indispensable sector, GastroSuisse is now turning its attention to the people behind it. According to a press release, the campaign is based on a simple yet powerful insight: The people who turn moments into special experiences with passion, professionalism, and hospitality often remain unseen. That is exactly what the new communication platform aims to change.
«You can't demand gratitude. You have to make it tangible. It grows when people recognize what the hospitality industry accomplishes every day—not in a preachy way, but in an approachable, entertaining manner that makes the effort behind every special moment palpable,» says Nadine Sperb, Senior Consultant at Farner.
Humorous short films that offer a change of perspective
At the heart of the campaign are humorous short films packed with entertainment value. They depict what life would be like without hospitality workers—and in doing so, they highlight in a surprising way the contribution the industry makes every day. Each video concludes with a shift in perspective and the message: «Thank goodness for the hospitality industry.»
«With this campaign, we’re putting the spotlight on the people who, through their daily dedication and entrepreneurial spirit, keep the hospitality industry going throughout Switzerland and bring hospitality to life,» says Kareen Vaisbrot, director of GastroSuisse.
Beyond Traditional Communication
According to a press release, the campaign goes beyond traditional communication. Complementary activities for guests and businesses are intended to create opportunities to express gratitude and strengthen ties with the industry. GastroSuisse is thus positioning itself as a unifying force between the hospitality industry, guests, and the public.
The campaign kicked off in the summer of 2026, with a noticeable buzz continuing into the first quarter of 2027—so that appreciation would be visible and tangibly felt over the long term, according to the press release.
