Prime Video significantly expanded its offering in Switzerland on December 8, 2025. In addition to the existing streaming content, customers can now also buy or rent films and series. With the launch of the Prime Video Store, the service is positioning itself as the central point of contact for digital entertainment in the Swiss market.

Extensive library with current blockbusters

The new offer includes a wide range of titles, including current cinema hits such as "Gladiator II", "Wicked - The Witches of Oz", "Mission Impossible 8: The Final Reckoning", "The Fantastic Four: First Steps" and "Dragon Taming Made Easy". "School of Magical Beasts 3" and other successful productions such as "Avatar: The Way of Water", "Lilo & Stitch" and "Thunderbolts" are also available. In terms of series, users can access season 5 of "Yellowstone", for example.

Seamless integration into the Prime Video experience

The purchase and rental function has been integrated directly into the existing Prime Video platform. Customers can discover and access both included and paid content in one place. Billing takes place via the existing Amazon account, without the need to switch apps or enter additional data. This integration is designed to offer more flexibility and choice.

Introductory offer for CHF 1.00

At the launch of the Prime Video Store, customers will benefit from a special promotion: all films can be rented for just CHF 1.00. This measure is intended to make setting up digital video stores more affordable and make it easier to get started with the new service.

The new purchase and rental function complements the existing content that Prime members can stream at no additional cost. This includes series and films produced by Amazon MGM Studios such as "Road House", "Culpa Nuestra", "Play Dirty", "Als Du Mich Sahst", "The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power", "The Boys", "Fallout", "Maxton Hall - The World Between Us" and "LOL: Last One Laughing".

In Switzerland, the Amazon Video streaming service is available on Primevideo.com available. The subscription costs 9.99 Swiss francs per month.
