"Artificial intelligence is not simply good or bad"

On November 5, Valentin Huber, co-owner of the creative studio «Das alte Lager,» will speak at the CLTR 2024 event about the use of artificial intelligence in film production and will participate in a panel discussion with other industry experts.

Valentin Huber and his creative studio "Das alte Lager" played a key role in the visual effects for the SRF series "Mindblow". Without artificial intelligence, it would never have been possible to rejuvenate the main character Dimitri Stapfer by 20 years, he explains.

However, for Huber, the use of AI is not always the best solution. "You can't say 'AI is good' or 'AI is bad'. You have to take a differentiated view," says Valentin Huber.

On November 5, he will be speaking at the CLTR 2024 event about the use of artificial intelligence in film production and discussing it with other experts from the industry on a panel.

Other speakers on the panel:
Peter Reichenbach, film producer and owner of C-FILMS AG
Kai-Peter Uhlig, partner at the law firm Werder Viganò and advises on copyright law, the film industry, media and audiovisual culture
Alexander Cuntz, Head of the Creative Economy Section of the World Intellectual Property Organization - WIPO in Geneva

"It is extremely important to talk about AI in the creative sector. Artists are affected by it, whether they like it or not. You can't avoid it. I therefore hope that as many people from the creative sector as possible will take part in the event and contribute their views."
