IKEA Switzerland relies on the power of radio advertising
IKEA Switzerland reported a significant increase in foot traffic and sales in the third quarter of 2023, which is clearly linked to targeted audio campaigns. In collaboration with Swiss Radioworld and EssenceMediacom, IKEA harnessed the power of audio to effectively engage customers and achieve measurable results.

The direct correlation between investments in radio advertising and a positive ROI is clear. "We have long been convinced of the impact of radio advertising. Our internal studies show that our cost per visit on the radio is in the lower double-digit range," explains Lukas Maximilian Dittmer, Integrated Media Manager at IKEA Switzerland.
Swiss Radioworld is also enthusiastic about these results. Sales Director Darko Dunjic emphasizes: "We are proud that IKEA has recognized the potential of audio advertising. This collaboration is proof of how effectively the medium can be used."
Focus on targeted messages and creative approach
In its audio campaigns, IKEA relied heavily on addressing the target group directly. The spots were designed to address relevant topics such as living, furnishing and sustainability, while specific targeting was used to appeal to customers. in a targeted manner. Seasonality, location-based information and action-oriented messages played a key role in activating listeners - both in stores and online.
Michael Diehr, Senior Communication Manager at EssenceMediacom, emphasizes: "The creative, targeted messages and well thought-out media planning have noticeably increased the flow of customers into the stores. These campaigns show how a good partnership can promote success."
IKEA, EssenceMediacom and Swiss Radioworld are already planning further projects to continue on this path. "Audio advertising has become an integral part of our media strategy," continues Dittmer.
