Holistic digitization: Two new platforms from Crafft for GBMZ
To mark the 100th anniversary of the GBMZ housing cooperative, Crafft is launching two new digital platforms: an internal one with numerous service features and an external website that has undergone a brand refresh.
Housing cooperatives are confronted with rising tenant expectations of modern housing services, control over personal data and transparent communication. They are also under increasing pressure to establish a professional and authentic brand image in order to attract external stakeholders, partners and qualified employees. "It was clear to us from the outset that we needed a technical set-up that would address the specific needs of internal and external stakeholders," explains Silvan Zurbrügg, Tech Lead at Crafft.
The collaboration with GBMZ began with a settlement-wide user survey on digitalization. This was followed by a design strategy workshop with the GBMZ office. The workshop focused on defining the core identity, goals and understanding the specific needs of the key stakeholder groups. "We're not just interested in what design looks like, but rather what design can achieve," explains Creative Director Scott Lloyd.
This approach formed the basis for a comprehensive brand refresh, including new print and communication materials, a website and the internal web app. A digitally retrievable design system ensures consistency across all media and is intended to give GBMZ a fresh and professional image that is aligned with the ambitious growth target.
A web app was also created for GBMZ tenants to provide a user-friendly experience. The 15 services include repair requests, ordering keys and washing cards, whiteboards for communication within the cooperative, feedback forms and ordering personal documents. Other features include 24/7 application and tracking, in-app messages or SMS updates from the administration, centralized access to housing regulations and documents, multilingual support for clear communication and an accessible design for all users.
Responsible at Crafft: Scott Lloyd (Strategic and Creative Direction), Christa Bühler Slavik Kuvshynov (Design), Silvan Zurbrügg, Erkan Demiralay and Severin Glaser (Development).
