Dachcom brings Swiss culture to life online
The agency Dachcom developed the new websites for the Swiss National Museum.

Three museums and the Collection Center are united under the umbrella of the Swiss National Museum. The museums present Swiss history from its beginnings to the present day and make Swiss identity, history and culture accessible in all its diversity - also with constantly changing exhibitions on current topics.
Dachcom won the pitch for the new development of the Swiss National Museum's web platforms at the end of 2018. Both the overall website of the National Museum and the individual platforms of the individual museums were completely redeveloped and technically implemented. Care was taken to ensure that, on the one hand, a clear group affiliation is recognizable, while on the other hand, the individual museums retain their own character. This resulted in new appearances for the websites Nationalmuseum.ch, National Museum.ch, Chateaudeprangins.ch, Forumschwyz.ch and Collection center.ch.
The aim of the comprehensive web project, which involved several customer workshops and a UX test at Dachcom, was to completely renew the Swiss National Museum's web presence - in terms of technology, design and user experience. The diverse stakeholder groups, from young to old, should be targeted and all relevant information should be found quickly and easily on the websites.
For this reason, the diverse offerings of the individual museums have now been bundled into clearly arranged agendas and can be accessed directly via a filter on the homepage. From a technical perspective, there are seven languages on the web platforms, four of which are fully translated and three partially translated. The museum app of the National Museum Zurich seamlessly accesses the data on the websites, which will also be optimized for all people with disabilities - such as people with impaired vision - in the near future.
