Nina Fargahi is 32 years old and lives in Zurich. She studied International Relations at the University of Geneva and holds a Master of Arts in Political Science from the University of Zurich. During her studies she worked as a freelance journalist and columnist for the Aargauer Zeitung and the Tages-Anzeiger. This was followed by internships at Swiss television's "Arena," WOZ, and the DPA's foreign bureau in Paris. She has been working for the NZZ since 2011 - first as a blogger, then as a trainee in the foreign department and since 2013 as news editor and daily manager in the newsroom; in this function she also takes care of the daily web presence of Nzz.ch. In 2012, she was awarded the Swiss Media Prize for Local Journalism for her blog about the Wyde neighborhood in Birr, Aargau, which is dominated by migration.

"Edito is in line with my journalistic credo," says Nina Fargahi. "I enjoy thinking about the role of the media in a democracy, observing trends and developments in other countries, and discussing media ethics issues."

As of July 1, Nina Fargahi will succeed Philipp Cueni (65), who has shaped and distinguished the Swiss media magazine with great commitment since 2009 as Editor-in-Chief of the German-language edition; he will relinquish his position but continue to work as an author. Alain Maillard (57) will remain Editor-in-Chief of the French-language edition. The Edito editorial team also includes Bettina Büsser (58, editor) and Sylvain Bolt (28, web editor).

Edito is published six times a year in two language editions - German and French - and is the largest Swiss media magazine with a total circulation of around 10,000 copies. The magazine is published by the three professional associations Impressum, Syndicom and SSM. The magazine is published by Bachmann Medien in Basel.
