Daniel E. Gundelfinger: Farewell to a pioneer of sponsoring
Daniel E. Gundelfinger, founding president and honorary member of Sponsoring Schweiz, passed away on January 3, 2025. His dedication continues to shape the association to this day.
On January 3, 2025, Daniel E. Gundelfinger passed away in the Hirslanden Clinic after a short, serious illness. The Board of Sponsoring Switzerland is deeply saddened by the news and extends its heartfelt condolences to his family.
As a pioneer in sponsorship, Daniel E. Gundelfinger laid the foundations for Sponsoring Switzerland in 1992, back then still as an interest group. His commitment to the professionalization and scientific foundation of sponsorship led to the founding of the association in 2005, which he chaired until 2017. Under his leadership, key topics such as combating ambush marketing and tax issues were actively addressed. He has left a lasting mark on the industry by publishing groundbreaking studies.
He remained closely associated with the association last year and actively participated in events. Daniel E. Gundelfinger leaves a lasting legacy for the sponsorship industry and will be fondly remembered by all members of Sponsoring Switzerland.
