The Tourism Organization presented at this year's General Assembly of September 19, 2023 a minus of CHF 16,000 with a turnover of CHF 11,320,367. Despite the decline, which amounted to -6.69% in overnight stays, there were more overnight guests last year than in the pre-Covid period. In terms of overnight stays, the one million mark was broken once again. In the tourism year 2022/23, a total of 1,163,354 guests stayed overnight in the vacation region - which also includes the Schanfigg valley in terms of tourism.

Arosa Bergbahnen AG also closed the past year with the second-best result in the company's history. For the first time since the Covid 19 pandemic, Arosa was again able to carry out all events within its event strategy in the 2022/23 season. During the regular elections, there were two castles. The previous board members Roy Zanin (2017 to 2023) and Thomas Blatter (2005 to 2023) announced their retirement in advance. With Carmen Prantl (39) and Tina Arpagaus (29), the representatives of Ferienwohnungen Arosa and Hotelleriesuisse Arosa presented two innovative personalities.

Sustainability should become a matter of course

The topic of sustainability is to be transformed from a focal theme into a matter of course, according to a press release. Sustainable actions and activities are practiced at all levels. The first projects have been successfully implemented and have already been further developed, so that Arosa is coming closer to its goal of becoming the most sustainable destination in the Alps, step by step. The targeted and deliberate focus on the areas of participation and inclusion expands this category in a meaningful way, and Arosa is setting itself no smaller goal than to equip the entire resort to be completely barrier-free in the coming years. The "al.digital" project, a digital transformation project with the goal of providing tomorrow's guests with seamless, digital access to the services of all partners and thus binding them closer to the destination(s), is also moving forward.
