SRF and RTL bring Heidi back as a series
SRF and RTL are re-adapting the classic "Heidi" and retelling the story as a series for the first time. The modern adaptation remains true to the historical context and brings the famous character to the screens.
145 years after the publication of Johanna Spyri's first novel, SRF and RTL are opening a new chapter in the story of "Heidi". The new edition not only tells the adventures of young Heidi in the Swiss mountains, but also follows her path to becoming a young woman. DCM Switzerland and Gaumont are behind the production. The series will be shown on both SRF and RTL Germany.

On the SRF side, Bettina Alber, Benjamin Magnin and Thomas Lüthi are responsible for editing under the direction of Baptiste Planche. At RTL, editorial responsibility lies with Brigitte Kohnert as Executive Producer under the direction of Hauke Bartel. The series concept and scripts are by head writer Valentina Brüning, supported by Swiss writers Seraina Nyikos and Béatrice Huber. The executive production is being handled by Zurich producer Christoph Daniel with DCM Switzerland, while Gaumont is involved as co-financing studio and distributor with producers Sabine de Mardt, Rainer Marquass, Andreas Bareiss and Dr. Andreas Bareiss.
