SRF 1 "Rundschau": Conversations more at eye level
The Audience Council has responded positively to the discussion format on the «Heisse Theke» segment of the new «Rundschau.» They also like the show’s modern look. In terms of content, the reports stand out for their engaging presentation—though there is sometimes a tendency toward dramatization.
The "hot seat" introduced in 1994 is gone. At last, the Public Council unanimously agrees and is pleased that discussions can now take place at eye level at the modern "hot bar". Despite the more pleasant formal arrangement, the interviews have remained uncomfortable, which the panel appreciates. Sandro Brotz has always hosted the observed broadcasts and the majority of Council members find him likeable, credible, persistent and fair.
The new visual appearance appeals to observers and is perceived as fresh, modern, "cool and cool". On the other hand, the introduction of three-dimensional presentations polarizes opinion: A majority of the Council sees augmented reality as a gimmick. As a pre-produced element in the live studio atmosphere, it also seems unnatural.
In terms of content, "Rundschau" convinced the majority of the Audience Council with its mostly attractive topics and the way they are presented. The panel rated the foreign topics as important because SRF does not have a foreign magazine. Many stories are emotionally moving, but there is a danger that distance and objectivity may be lost. Some Council members sometimes notice a tendency towards dramatization in some contributions, which is evident in the choice of topics and in re-enacted scenes with background music.
