Audience Council: "The Greatest Swiss Talents" with high entertainment value

At its current meeting, the Swiss Audience Council made a decision about the casting show "Die grössten Schweizer Talente" and the "Sinerzyt" programs on "DRS Musikwelle. The Council gave both formats a very positive rating.

The adaptation of a format that has proven itself abroad was a convincing success. The show had a high entertainment value and appealed to a broad audience, according to the audience council. The moderation and the jury also left a positive impression through their competence and credibility. The council members expressed concerns about the participation of very young talents and about the spreading of life and suffering stories of the participants. Here, a very responsible approach was necessary and the introduction of a minimum age of 16 should be considered.

The audience council considers the "Sinerzyt" reports on "DRS Musikwelle" to be attractive, enriching, interesting and informative. However, the content mix is too arbitrary and often too short. Here, a stronger structuring of content and thematic weighting is needed. It is appreciated that the potential of the large broadcast archive is used in a listener-friendly way with this program. In addition, however, it should be questioned whether and how these contributions could also be made available to a younger audience.

The new head of "DRS Musikwelle," Bernhard Siegmann, answered the audience council's questions for the first time in his new role. His heart and soul and his commitment were palpable, according to the Council. And far beyond the column "Sinerzyt" it let its goals with the "DRS music wave" recognize. In the opinion of the council members, the Internet presence does have added value, but this could still be increased. The abundance of the contributions, which are callable over Internet, particularly positively notice. It would be desirable to offer those contributions, which come along shortened in the radio, in original length in the Internet. In this respect, there is a need and potential for expansion, the audience council states.
