New Head of Communications at Syndicom

At the beginning of March, Bruno Schmucki took up his post as Head of Communications at Syndicom. In addition to this task, he also assumes the function of Syndicom's media spokesman.

Bruno Schmucki has broad experience in PR, marketing and campaigning for political nonprofit organizations. He previously headed the communications department of the disability organization Procap Switzerland, was campaign manager and media spokesman for the trade union Unia, and edited the members' newspaper of the trade union SMUV. He also performed similar tasks for the Friends of Nature Switzerland and Pro Velo Switzerland.

One of his new activities at Syndicom will be to position the organization, which was merged two years ago from the unions Kommunikation and Comedia, with its 45,000 members more broadly and clearly in the public eye, as Syndicom writes in a statement on Monday. In addition, the union's campaign structures will be strengthened in order to successfully further develop the collective labor agreements (CLA) in the postal/logistics, telecom/IT and media/printing/graphics sectors.

New Head of Communications at Syndicom

Mohamed Hamdaoui has been Central Secretary and Head of Communications of the Media and Communications Union since November 1, 2011. He succeeds Didier Page.

For twelve years, the 47-year-old worked in Bern as a federal house correspondent for regional radio stations in western Switzerland, as the union writes in a statement on Wednesday. Before that, after a journalism internship at the Cortesi office in Biel, he had worked for French-speaking Switzerland television and the Journal du Jura. He succeeds Didier Page, who held this position for three years. Hamdaoui is a native French speaker but also communicates in German and is the first point of contact for the media interested in the issues and people Syndicom is working on.
