Briefing startup "Morningcrunch" secures pre-seed financing
Every weekday at 6 a.m., «Morningcrunch» sends email briefings to its readers—whether on stock market developments, the private equity industry, or the latest AI trends. The founders have now secured pre-seed funding, thanks in part to Ringier executive Robin Lingg and former Burda CEO Martin Weiss.
Every working day at 6 a.m., "Morningcrunch" sends out email briefings to its readers - whether on the stock market, the private equity sector or the latest AI trends. The media aggregator aims to get to the heart of the most important news of the day - literally: all "Morningcrunch" briefings are written in a bullet point style to inform readers as quickly and concisely as possible. Briefing companies have long been established in the USA: "Axios", "Morning Brew" and "Industry Dive" are among the leading players.
Offer that reaches a younger target group
So far, German-language offerings have primarily targeted older audiences. With "Morningcrunch", a briefing company is now being created that reaches young readers in particular. Renowned investors and media professionals - including ex-Burda CEO Martin Weiss and Robin Lingg, Ringier's "crown prince" for years - are supporting the briefing startup in scaling up in the DACH region. The lead investor is the Berlin-based tech fund 468 Capital, led by General Partner Alexander Kudlich.
Reader surveys show that "Morningcrunch" readers are on average 28 years old, have an above-average education and are high earners. The two founders, Paul Ostwald and Gregor Becker, are optimistic about the pre-seed financing: "We want to reach one million readers in the DACH region within the next three to four years," said co-founder Ostwald in a press release. "We also see an opportunity to establish paid content models, especially in professional niches such as automotive."
