Zurich Film Foundation: Film prizes awarded for image promotion
On Thursday, November 20, 2008, this year's film awards of the cities of Zurich and Winterthur as well as the success awards of the Filmstiftung Zürich "Succès Zürich" were presented at the Theater Winterthur. The awards went to the three young directors Oliver Rihs, Simon Nagel and Carmen Stadler.
The three filmmakers were selected in advance by the KSB/SJ agency together with the Filmstiftung from a pre-selection of thirteen young directors. The aim was to realize the agency's concept of an image advertisement for the foundation itself as well as for "good film". The directors developed their film stories and also directed them themselves. The assignment was to quote a film genre they had chosen themselves, and to use the film story to lead up to a clichéd film conclusion, but to resolve the film at the end with a punch and a word in a way that one would not have expected.
The result is three extremely independent, cinematic gems: "Love" by Oliver Rihs, "Spiel" by Simon Nagel and "Schnee" by Carmen Stadler. The advertising agency KSB/SJ, Condor Pictures, Egli Film as well as helpers who supported the project with words and deeds collaborated on the film projects. The films were financially supported by Raiffeisen Banks Zurich, Winterthur and Thalwil. The three films can now be seen in cinemas throughout German-speaking Switzerland.

The ZFS Zurich Film Foundation was founded in 2004 thanks to the approval of the corresponding municipal referendum bill. At that time, the advertising agency KSB/SJ designed the "Yes to Film" advertisement. Since then, the foundation has been promoting "professional, high-quality filmmaking," the agency wrote in a media release on Sunday. The foundation mainly provides financial support for the development and production of feature films, short films, animated films as well as cinema documentaries.
