Westiform develops further supplement for protection concepts

Westiform, a visual communications company, has expanded its product line in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Having previously produced Plexiglas panels for the Swiss Federal Palace, among other projects, the company has now launched the Clean Air Tower, a product that combines air purification with hygiene measures and informational features.

Aerosols have existed before, but they have only entered the public consciousness since the Corona crisis: this refers to the distribution of very fine suspended substances in the air. The current motto is to stay outdoors and ventilate generously. But what happens if certain rooms cannot be ventilated at all? And how much ventilation is tolerable when autumn temperatures drop? How do companies or even institutions deal with rooms that are shared or have a high frequency of change, such as visitor rooms, waiting rooms, common rooms and meeting rooms, to name just a few examples?

In order to offer a solution to precisely these questions, Westiform has joined forces with the manufacturer of the AiroDoctor. The result is the Clean Air Tower, which combines customer findings from recent months with current needs: Information needs, hygiene and clean air.

"Distance is still extremely important for preventing infection in the immediate vicinity, whether through acrylic glass panes or hygiene masks," says Simone Bächle, Managing Director at Westiform. "However, we are noticing, especially in the sales of our disinfection dispensers, that the demand for integrated information and advertising surfaces is growing more and more. So that we don't have another product "standing around" we have decided to integrate the air purifier into the disinfection dispensers."

Stele with information or advertising space

With digital or analog information and advertising space on the Clean Air Tower, information on protection concepts can be quickly adapted - or it is also suitable as advertising space. The air purifier is installed in a disinfection pedestal, which enables contactless hand disinfection by means of a sensor. The core of the Clean Air Tower is the AiroDoctor air purifier. The 4-fold filter system filters 99.9% of all pollutants from the air. Viruses, dust, pollen or even odors circulate in the device and are decomposed with UV-LED technology. So there are no health risks from UV-C, which releases ozone and is carcinogenic, and also the filter can be changed by yourself without hesitation.

"We're noticing a trend away from temporary to permanent, sustainable solutions that just might have their raison d'être even after Corona," notes Simone Bächle. "That's why we designed a harmonious, coordinated look for the Clean Air Tower, so it can be designed and branded as desired to integrate with the look and concept of stores, offices, conference rooms, medical practices, etc."
