Werbeweischer takes over Cinecom

Werbeweischer, under the leadership of Nils Schilling, Managing Director, will thus become the clear market leader in the local cinema advertising market. The parties have agreed not to disclose the purchase price. Florian Weischer, Chairman Werbeweischer, is looking forward to the joint future of the two strong Swiss cinema marketers: "Thanks to the innovative impulses we have set with Werbeweischer in the Swiss cinema market since our market entry almost three years ago, the medium cinema has continuously gained relevance in the moving image mix of advertising clients - a highly positive development that Werbeweischer will now further advance together with the cinema experts of Cinecom."

"The complexity created by the ongoing digitization of the cinema business as well and the increasing pressure on margins led to the decision to divest the cinema business," Publicitas wrote in a statement. In addition to print and online, Publicitas' two main revenue pillars, cinema marketing had offered too few synergies and thus no scalable effects in the company.

Weischer Beteiligungs GmbH is taking over 100 percent of Publicitas Cinecom as of Sept. 21, 2015, with all obligations to customers and employees.
