Uri advertises again with Tell's apple shot
For the second year in a row, Uri's restaurateurs and Uri Tourism invite guests to the "TELLer-Schuss". Restaurant guests armed with a crossbow compete for a free dinner in Uri's Unterland region.

William Tell once again becomes the brand ambassador for the region of Uri. As everyone knows, according to the myth, Tell's apple shot laid the foundation for today's Switzerland. Gastronomes and tourism marketers now want to use this fact for themselves in the form of a marketing campaign. With the so-called "TELLer shot", guests of catering establishments in Uri can play for a meal. Whoever hits the apple on the target gets his menu for free. The campaign runs from April 24 to May 21, as it did last year for four weeks.
Groups of up to ten people are allowed, with one of them playing for all the bills. "As with Schiller, the group chooses a Tell from among themselves, so to speak, who then fires the much-important shot for everyone," explains Evelin Walker, product manager at Uri Tourism. Ten restaurants between Schattdorf and the Rütli take part in the action. "We only specify to the restaurants that the menus have to be related to Tell in some way, without changing the character of the respective cuisine at the same time", says Evelin Walker. More information is available at the Action website. (pd/aks)
