TV series only one day after US broadcast
Sunrise TV and Hollystar are now marketing 20th Century Fox DigitalHD content. Films and TV series can therefore be purchased very early in the lifecycle.
Thanks to the new partnership with 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment, Sunrise TV and Hollystar customers now have access to many additional blockbusters as well as the latest series. For example, Sunrise TV and Hollystar in Switzerland are offering the brand new third season of the hit US series "Homeland" as a download for purchase, just one day after it is first broadcast in the USA. In addition, cinema highlights and film series such as "Die Hard 1-5" and "Ice Age 1-4" are no longer only available to rent as video-on-demand (VoD), but can also be purchased and downloaded from Hollystar.
Sunrise TV is the first complete TV service in Switzerland to offer movies not only for rent, but also for purchase. "The strategic partnership with 20th Century Fox means that we will also be able to offer movies for purchase very early on in the lifecycle," says Timm Degenhard, Chief Marketing Officer at Sunrise.
New: Series highlights available to buy
Purchased and downloaded films and TV series remain available in the customer account at all times, even if their usage rights as rental films in the VoD catalog have expired. According to the press release, this is a very important requirement for film and series fans and in the area of family and children's films. Depending on the title, a movie costs between ten and 25 francs. The films are stored on the Hollystar or Sunrise TV platform. This means that customers can access their purchased films and series in the cloud at any time and watch them as they wish without having to fill shelves or hard disks. The 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment film catalog is available in four languages (German, French, Italian and English). The rental prices (VoD) for both Sunrise TV and Hollystar range from CHF 2.90 to CHF 6.90 per film (CHF 8.40 for HD).
"The new option of being able to buy films from Sunrise TV and Hollystar with immediate effect meets a great need. Our experience in the Swiss market, with growth rates of over 50 percent, as well as in other markets in Europe and the USA, shows this," comments Markus Naef, Country Manager of 20th Century Fox Switzerland, on the partnership.
