Newspapers The Tribune de Genève (TdG) is undergoing a relaunch. While the changes to the layout are rather subtle, the concept in particular has been overhauled, with the TdG focusing primarily on local reporting in future. "Today, the majority of our readers start with the regional edition and then flip backwards through the first edition to find out about world events," believes Editor-in-Chief Dominique von Burg. In future, page two will offer "the latest news in five minutes", i.e. brief information on the most important events of the last 24 hours. The previous seven-page sections International, Switzerland and Economy will be condensed into the five-page section "Les enjeux" ("The stakes"). According to von Burg, the local newsroom will no longer serve as a career stopover, but will be staffed by particularly experienced journalists.
