Topicfilm in new hands
Monika Schärer and Christian Rösch have taken over Topicfilm AG from Andres Brütsch. Since Monday, the two have been showcasing works by in-house directors Christian Rösch, Andres Brütsch, and Horst Czenskowski, as well as a hidden gem from the 49-year-old film archive, on the new website.
Andres Brütsch ran the business for 27 years. Director and producer Christian Rösch and his wife Monika Schärer, who has worked as a presenter, editor and producer at Swiss Radio and Television (SRF) for various cultural and travel programs since 1989, are now taking over.
The Filmwerkstatt, which will operate under the name Topicfilm Manufaktur from April 2011, offers corporate films, adaptations of existing films and glossy TV commercials. "Every film - whether short or long - whether analog, digital or 3D - whether for TV, cinema or the web - is close to our hearts," said the two managing directors in a statement. On their website, they present their showreel with productions for clients and other work. They have also unearthed commercials from the sixties, seventies and eighties from their 49-year archive. From now on, a new film gem from the archive will be made available on the website every month.
