Ticino Turismo and Zimmermann Communications bring the Ticino lifestyle to German-speaking Switzerland
With two eye-catching campaigns in Bern, Basel, and Zurich, Ticino Turismo is showing that Ticino is much more than just a summer destination. The initiatives, supported by Zimmermann Communications, include a guerrilla marketing campaign featuring 1,000 colorful rain covers for bicycle seats, as well as an interactive poster where passersby can create their own personal Ticino bucket list.
This winter, Ticino Turismo is creating surprising Ticino moments in the everyday lives of German-speaking Swiss with two eye-catching campaigns, demonstrating that the south of Switzerland is much more than just a summer destination.
In Bern, Basel and Zurich, around 1000 bicycle saddles were fitted with colorful Ticino rain covers. The spontaneous guerrilla campaign triggered numerous smiles and positive reactions. Short interviews clearly showed that the Ticino bucket list is long, the enthusiasm is great and so is the desire to visit again soon.
At the same time, a special poster on Stadelhoferstrasse in Zurich is currently inviting people to playfully create their own personal Ticino Bucket List. Passers-by can scan activities directly on the poster or tear off small tickets. You can also take part in a competition until December 31 in which you can win real Ticino experiences by sending in your own personal Ticino Bucket List. The tear-off campaign runs until December 7, 2025 and is already generating a lot of interest.
Both measures were accompanied by the long-standing partner agency Zimmermann Communications from Zollikon, which made a significant contribution to the creative implementation and high visibility.
Ticino scores 365 days a year
In connection with the activities in German-speaking Switzerland, Ticino shows that it scores points 365 days a year with its diversity, mild climate and modern infrastructure. While gray days dominate elsewhere, Ascona-Locarno and Lugano show their sunny and mild side. Walks along the lakes, lively piazzas and Mediterranean charm create the perfect backdrop for an Advent weekend full of dolce vita, quiet moments, culinary delights and relaxing downtime.
New winter offers on Monte Tamaro and Monte Generoso
In Bellinzonese, the cable car from Monte Carasso takes visitors up to 1300 meters all year round, where impressive views over the Magadino plain await. Whether it's a circular hike, a visit to the historic village of Curzútt or the start of the famous Tibetan bridge: The region is also varied and well developed in winter.
For the first time, the cable car on Monte Tamaro also runs at weekends and on public holidays in winter. Whether it's the church designed by Mario Botta, the sculpture trail or the panorama of Alpe Foppa: the region opens up new winter perspectives. On Monte Generoso, the cable car also takes guests to the summit in December: a coffee at the Bellavista buffet or a visit to the iconic Fiore di pietra combine architectural highlights with an experience of nature.
Centovalli Railway with new carriages
The legendary Centovalli Railway connects Domodossola with Locarno. It goes over 83 bridges, through 31 tunnels and past spectacular landscapes. Newly equipped with modern carriages, it remains one of the most impressive rail experiences in the Alps. Even the short distance to Verscio, home of the Teatro Dimitri, is worth the journey.
With the Ticino Ticket, guests also benefit from numerous discounts throughout the canton.
