Theobald takes over management of the Blick Group
Following the previously announced departure of Wolfgang Büchner, Alexander Theobald, Chief Operating Officer of Ringier Switzerland, will assume interim operational leadership of the Blick Group effective immediately. In addition, the Blick Group’s management structure will be reorganized effective September 1.

At the beginning of August, it was announced that Wolfgang Büchner, CEO of the Blick Group, would be leaving Ringier at the end of October this year. Effective immediately, Alexander Theobald (52), Chief Operating Officer Ringier Switzerland, will now take over as interim head. Alexander Theobald will retain his current role as COO with responsibility for Operations and Business Development at Ringier Switzerland. Theobald has held this position since 2014 and was previously a member of the Group Executive Board of Ringier AG from 2004 to 2009, responsible first for the Swiss magazine business and then for the national companies in Hungary and Romania.
As of September 1, the management structure of the Blick Group will also be reorganized. The Brand Studio department, which specializes in the further development of advertising formats such as native advertising and production sponsoring, will be newly established. The team will be headed by Fabian Zürcher, who will take up his post as deputy editor-in-chief of Blick.ch, View in the evening as well as Blickamabend.ch promptly.

Nicolas Pernet will be in charge of the Blick Group's print operations, in addition to his current role as Head of Marketing for the Blick Group. Pernet thus assumes responsibility for the commercial development of the print titles.

In addition to his role as Chief Digital Officer Publishing, Juan Baron will assume interim responsibility for Digital. As soon as the final management has been determined, Baron will focus more strongly on strategic and Group-wide issues again in the future.

Michael Ludewig, Managing Editor in the Blick Group newsroom, will retain responsibility for the administration and production departments. Ludewig will focus in particular on establishing convergent work processes in the newsroom.

In the new structure, the editors-in-chief will once again report directly to Ringier CEO Marc Walder on journalistic matters. In disciplinary terms, they will continue to report to the CEO of the Blick Group.
