Syndicom reports print shop bankruptcy near Thun
According to the media union Syndicom, 65 employees at a printing company near Thun are worried about their jobs. Syndicom announced on Thursday that bankruptcy proceedings had been initiated on Wednesday against the Schläfli & Maurer printing company in Uetendorf.
No one at the company concerned could initially be reached for comment. The Oberland bankruptcy office did not comment on the case. Syndicom condemns the company's actions in the strongest terms, as stated in the communiqué: it is unacceptable to present employees with a fait accompli. The union was also taken by surprise by the bankruptcy.
Syndicom assumes that 65 employees will be affected by the closure. A works meeting is to be held on Friday. According to Syndicom, there are three main objectives: Securing outstanding wage payments, registering for unemployment insurance without delay and providing support with career reorientation.
