Swiss1 will broadcast Schwingen live during prime time for the first time
Swiss1 is kicking off the 2026 Swiss wrestling season early and will mark a first with the Langenthal Evening Wrestling Festival on March 21: For the first time ever, a wrestling festival will be broadcast live during prime time. The program will be hosted by Linda Gwerder and Schwing Queen Sonia Kälin, supported by a top-notch team of experts.

Swiss1 is bringing Swiss national sport to primetime in 2026. With the live broadcast of the Langenthaler Abendschwinget on Saturday, March 21, 2026, the private broadcaster is breaking new ground and broadcasting a wrestling event in prime time for the first time. Swiss1 is thus not only starting the wrestling season earlier than usual, but also combining tradition with innovation.
"We have been investing sustainably in the sport of wrestling for many years, combining tradition with innovation. In addition to the classic wrestling festivals that take place during the day, we are also breaking new ground this season: with the Langenthaler Abendschwinget, we are the first Swiss TV station to broadcast wrestling live during primetime and thus in prime time. A win-win situation for viewers, the sport of wrestling and the advertising market," explains Daniela Zwahlen, CEO of Swiss1.
Top-class team of moderators and experts
The show is hosted by Linda Gwerder, supported by expert and wrestling queen Sonia Kälin. The Swiss1 Schwinget Team 2026 also includes wrestling king Kilian Wenger as expert and Erik Schegg as commentator.
