Studio Marie Lusa: Expedition to Happiness

The Zurich-based agency Studio Marie Lusa designed the promotional campaign for the exhibition «1900–1914: Expedition to Happiness» at the Swiss National Museum in Zurich.

From March 28, 2014, the Landesmuseum Zurich will be turning its gaze to the years leading up to the First World War. The era is characterized by a belief in progress, technical innovations, a belief in peace and avant-garde artistic creation. Picasso, Hodler, Klimt and Schiele, like the streamlined drop car "La Bomba", embody the dynamism and leaps in development of those years. The exhibition "1900-1914. Expedition to Happiness" suggests parallels to the present without making judgmental comparisons.

The presentation for this exhibition was developed by Studio Marie Lusa from Zurich. The visual realization focuses on an illustration of the Steel Globe Tower and collages it with various achievements from that time. The Steel Globe was a fantastic project around 1908 for a gigantic entertainment building on Coney Island, the likes of which the world had never seen before - and would never get to see. It symbolically shows faith in progress, creativity and utopia.
