Scholz & Friends Switzerland with new top management
Tobias Händler will become the new CEO of Scholz & Friends Switzerland with effect from February 15. He succeeds Martin Samsel, who is leaving the agency at his own request after four years as CEO.
Tobias Händler joins from Sunrise Communications, where he has held the position of Head of Brand Strategy and Marketing Communications since 2013. Händler is an old acquaintance returning to Scholz & Friends. From 2007 to 2011, he was responsible for business development at Scholz & Friends in Berlin, Hamburg and Zurich. Together with the Swiss management team led by Lukas Frei and Fabian Röthlisberger, he will further expand the positioning of Scholz & Friends Switzerland as a strategically and creatively first-class agency for brand communication, as was reported in a press release on Wednesday.
Martin Samsel has led Scholz & Friends Switzerland since 2012 and has managed to reposition the agency in the Swiss market, steadily advance its quality and thus firmly establish it. Most recently, numerous new clients were acquired, such as Charles Vögele, Digitalradio/DAB+, Localsearch.ch, Radio SRF 1 and UPC Cablecom.

Tobias Händler studied Social and Business Communication at the Berlin University of the Arts (UdK) and was already Managing Director of the student communications agency Töchter + Söhne during his studies. After successfully completing his studies, he continued on his chosen path and began his career at Scholz & Friends in Berlin, where he quickly rose to become Head of New Business. From 2008, he also took on the role of Director Business Development at Scholz & Friends Holding Commarco. In 2010, the Frankfurt native moved to Switzerland. At Scholz & Friends Switzerland, he was responsible for business development until the end of 2011 and supplemented strategic planning and client consulting. Since 2012, he has held various marketing positions at Sunrise Communications. As Head of Brand Strategy and Marketing Communications, his responsibilities included the strategic brand management and repositioning of Sunrise as well as the integrated communicative presence of the private and business customer segment. Tobias Händler has been a lecturer in corporate communications at the Höhere Fachschule für Wirtschaft in Zug since 2012.
