Ringier, SRG and Swisscom bundle the marketing of their advertising services
SWISS ADVERTISING MARKET Ringier, SRG and Swisscom are bundling the marketing of their media offerings and advertising platforms in a new, joint marketing company that is geared towards the rapidly changing needs of advertising clients and Swiss media. Swisscom is contributing its technological expertise and the marketing rights for Swisscom TV and its online platforms. Ringier and SRG are contributing the marketing rights for their complementary, high-reach media offerings. The merger also enables the joint development of new forms of advertising and advertising technologies in Switzerland. The partners' declared aim is to sustainably strengthen the Swiss advertising market in the face of globalized competition. The company's services are open to all advertising clients, agencies and other providers of advertising inventory. "With this partnership, we want to offer globally active companies a strong Swiss alternative, develop innovative new forms of advertising, strengthen the Swiss advertising market and thus keep value creation in Switzerland," says Marc Walder, CEO of the Ringier media company. "Last year, Google and Facebook alone achieved a market share of around 50 percent in the Swiss digital advertising market. "By pooling complementary skills and strengths, the aim is to create a powerful and promising marketing organization that none of the three partners involved could offer on their own. Advertising clients will benefit from integrated, customized communication solutions across all media channels. In addition, the collaboration between the three partners will promote new marketing products in the moving image environment, target group-specific advertising and the automation of booking options. This will benefit the Swiss media marketplace and enable advertisers to reach every target group in Switzerland easily, quickly, effectively and measurably. The cooperation includes the establishment of a public limited company in which all three companies each hold a one-third stake. The three partners have agreed not to disclose the financial details. Swisscom and Ringier will contribute most of their advertising activities, advertising inventory and marketing organizations to the joint venture. SRG is fully integrating its marketing company publisuisse into the new company. The name of the joint venture has not yet been defined.
Martin Schneider (48), CEO publisuisse, is the designated CEO of the planned joint venture with a total of around 290 employees. The designated Chairman of the Board of Directors is Marc Walder. SRG and Swisscom are to be represented on the Board of Directors by Roger de Weck and Urs Schaeppi. publisuisse's merger with the marketing units of Swisscom and Ringier is a joint entrepreneurial initiative with growth potential.
